I have a master cylinder from an 05/06 zx6r that I'd like to put on my 'bolt. I know a member of buellxb put one on his lightning here with just a couple of issues. Does anyone have one on their firebolt? I went out and did a quick test fit holding it on the bar and it was a very close fit. Just checking to see if someone else has done it so I'll know if I have to modify anything to get it to fit. I know I'll have to find some place to put the reservoir, which shouldn't be too much of a problem. The lines should be good since the clipons are lower than the bars on the lightning. Also what's the best procedure to go about installing it? I've never installed/bled a dry master before...only bled a full one. I'm guessing I'll have to bleed the fluid through the master, then through the lines? Should I unhook the lines from the old master with fluid in them so they'll be easier to bleed after I hook them to the new one? (Message edited by zoink on October 13, 2009) |

Problem is going to be the feel. You're using a master cylinder with a piston that is sized to move TWO calipers. It might be pretty touchy. I got an R6 master cylinder that I was going to put on mine when I demolished the original - but then I inherited another stocker so just never got around to it. |
