Hey guys, The cold is coming so I thought about selling my bike for the season. Next Spring I was going to purchase an 09 or 10 1125r. My 08 1125r has 5500 miles signed by Erik Buell in great condition. Has a few small uprgrades like k&n and tail eliminator. What's a reasonable price to sell this for? I saw my local HD dealer had a sale on the 2008 Buells for 7900. Thanks for the help - Shaun |

Wow...I just don't see how such a great bike sells for such little money. I swear, I'm tempted to save up and buy an 1125R for a track bike just for giggles. I just sold my 2006 Ulysses with 20,000 miles on it of $5500. Dang, I was going to pick up a nice SV650 next year for a track bike, but I might have to jump on an 1125R. |

1125r makes a great track bike... I know. Also, all the hours of prepping and then returning to streetable form would be eliminated. Tempting. Very tempting. I will keep my eye out. The best part is that I don't have to stick to CA only models for a track bike. However, I am also looking forward to 2011 for a possible RR version. Maybe I will just worry about that when the time comes... |

A brand new 1125r with a 2-yr warranty is $8k. That's pretty tough to turn down as a track bike. |

Track only bikes, for me, cost no more than $3-4,000. I think in a year or so, I can find a nice 2008 (maybe lightly crashed) for that money. |

I think you should avoid the headache of listing, answering calls, having people come over and just give me the bike. I promise to take good care of it and ride it daily. Sorry, had to try. |

I'm also thinking about waiting until the price comes down a little more and picking one up as a track bike. |

Prices are down a little more already. Snap one up. I need a few more people out there on the tracks. They are great track and street bikes. If all you fine folks would start buying them up then prices would recover, making owners have equity, and then they could sell them at a profit to SV650 guys looking to upgrade. See problem solved, now stop talking about it and go buy one! T |

Bought mine salvage with like 80 miles on the clock for under 4k - put 3k into it (including HPE exhaust, fairing lowers, K&N etc) and its pretty much mint. No factory support - but hey... if you want cheap ownership into the 1125 world - salvage bikes are tough to beat! |
