The first major storm just hit, and my bike is sitting out in the rain with a cheap cover over it. The cover isn't completely waterproof, so the bike is getting wet. I have a good cover on order that should be here Friday. It's an Empire cover that is supposed to be 100% waterproof. Anyone have experience with them? This is the one I ordered: http://www.empirecovers.com/shop/search.aspx?size= MC-2&tx=BUELL%202008%20Firebolt%20XB12R&fls=yes Aside from Empire, does anyone own a cover that does the job and is 100% waterproof? I would think the bike getting wet wouldn't bother me because I've ridden in the rain several times before. But there's something about the bike sitting for several days and getting wet that annoys me. I might not have a garage for another 6 months, so if these waterproof/weatherproof covers do the job then I can rest a little easier. Thanks -Mark |

Be careful with a 100% waterproof cover. It may not let water in... but it ALSO won't let water vapor OUT. In a good storm, the evaporating water on the ground will be trapped by the cover and held against your precious motorcycle. All that held moisture will do WONDERS for that cheap metal Buell uses for their mufflers. The only thing a cover has to do is protect your bike from direct sunlight and prying eyes. |

Jaime, that makes sense. But the cover I just bought, you drive over and park on top of it, and then it zips up and fully encapsulates the bike. |

+1... A 100% waterproof cover will keep evaporation from happening. Even if it doesn't rain. If there is humidity or morning dew that gets under the cover it will stay there. |

Boltrider... that's fine if you can park the bike when it's still dry. If it's already raining, I'd leave the bike uncovered and just let it get wet. "It's only water." Once it (and the cover) dries, then you can seal it up again. |
