I am in some DESPERATE need to get another bike and have been on the fence about buying my best friend's bike! Can you guys give some help?!?! So let me start that I am 24 and have had my fair share of Nakeds (SV1000 & ZRX1200R) and Crotch Rockets (RC51 & ZX11). I am in a pretty serious relationship and my other 1/2 likes to ride passenger as her dad has a Harley. My best friend wanted the agreement if I bought the bike that I would sell it back to him if I ever wanted/needed to sell it. About the bike... Its a '96 Parkway Blue S2T. It has ~60k with most of the service accounted for (paperwork & all). It will also come with a Buell service manual. My friend bought it from his uncle who was the original buyer and has 5 other bikes. It has all the current updates on the bike from Buell. The topend has been rebuilt/ upgraded due to the key on the pinion shaft shearing a couple years ago right after he bought it. We agreed on the selling price of $3100. The current build consists of MANY good parts! 1250 kit 10.5:1 NRHS Stg 3 heads HSR42 w/ K&N SE .536 cams SE Intake Manifold S1W header Supertrapp w/ race cap SE Adjustable Ignition module SE High Performance Coil & Wires The bike will come with the wide AND narrow bags. It has a tinted windscreen on it. I forgot to mention the bike has never been down and the body/paint is in GREAT shape! The screens are the only thing that needs to be added/replaced cosmetically. The ONLY thing I know it needs is new springs & fork oil as it is bottoming out lately mid-turn over bumps and minimal braking. The seals aren't leaking...yet. So is this a fair deal or should I pass it along??? |

Buy it. Don't be surprised when your gf keeps buggin' you to go for a ride and is extremely frisky afterwards. |

"Don't be surprised when your gf keeps buggin' you to go for a ride and is extremely frisky afterwards." I guess the vibes of the motor would do that to a girl...haha |

Especially if you put a Vibe Rider in the passenger seat . |

Brad, I agree. By the way, I am in Minneapolis right now. Are there any good addresses for Buell addicts? Shirts'n'stuff? Was at Hal's yesterday for the first time. That was nice! Cool people! :-) |

Where in Mpls are you? The only halfway decent Buell shop is StPaul HD/Buell on the east side of St Paul. How long you in town? Brad Give me a call if you have time. 6-1-2--6-1-6--7-0-4-8 |

If you're doing your own forks there's a problem with HDs cross-reference for one of the parts. I'm guessing that there's really a problem with two, and if I had ordered both part numbers I would have been fine. I'll take a look at my notes if you need. |

I had to do some digging... Support Ring, item 14 in the 95 Parts catalog and part number 45812-94Y, is recommended to be replaced by the service manual. The updated number is 9130.8. 9130.8 doesn't work too well as a support ring but happens to be exactly the same size as my old spacer ring, p/n 45814-94Y. I can't tell you what the old spacer ring, (part number 45814-94Y) crosses to, but I'm willing to bet if you tried to buy one to the new part number you'd get a nice support ring. It seems like Ratbuell was going to order one to see what he got, but that might be wishful thinking on my part. If you try it let me know what happens. |

I ordered some turn signals, and mirrors, and underseat bag to see what I got....mirrors and bag worked out. What's the support/spacer ring? Or am I missing it further up in the thread, since I'm fairly pre-coffee at the moment? lol |

From what I can recall without a manual, It's a ring within the forks that keep a bushing from hitting a seal. |

I went back to where I first posted the problem with the ring. There's nothing there in print that shows Joe was planning on trying to order the 45814-94Y. It may have been my coworker. Or again, just wishful thinking on my part. |

I think it would be kind of cool if we'd develop a "S2 parts we don't want to be without" . . . . I am thinking of stockpiling some. |

>>>I thought you already did!!! I'm betting we could build three bikes out of what's in your basement! You MAY be right and I still have a lot of NEW S2 bodywork in factory boxes as well as all the prototype stuff from 1994. I MUST start thinning this out . . . . or start looking for a new place to live.

I've got a basement.... Though I'm not sure if that's an offer of a place to live or a place to thin your stuff. |

I am thinking of stockpiling some. I recently tried to get a stock timing cover plate for the restoration project and it is obsolete as well. I need to sit down and start a list. Timing Cover Turn Signals Etc. |

Frank, you want a stock timing cover? Mine is a bit faded, but if you want it, you can have it... |

You bet. I was not looking forward to trying to track one down for the restoration. |
