As a native Arizonan and year round rider for the last 4+ years, the summer can be brutal. Especially Tucson and Phoenix where it hits 110+ for days on end. But us lizards can manage pretty well once you learn how to adapt - physically and mentally.

if they sold a 1125R that was kitted out like the AMA pace bike, sales would shoot up...I would buy it

We are looking at doing something similar to what you suggest.
Our biggest concern is if we build it, will people buy it?

One version has the Buell Race fairing (cutout for headlights), upgrades at front suspension, rear suspension, front brakes, race tail section, steering damper, pegs, clutch and brake levers, racing type front fender, performance tune and "aggressive looking" paint scheme. Cost would be 15999.00 and the only addition would be any sales tax that we would have to charge.

We also have 3 other options we are considering.

I think just the Buell lowers and belly pan would help move them out the door.

All that other stuff is certainly beneficial, but adds significantly to the price tag. IMO, almost all the people saying "i'd but it if it had the fairing to hide the pods" can't use the full benefit of the other stuff anyway.

No offense meant to any of those people, just saying that my approach would be to do the the minimum upgrades to help move them out the door. After all, with all the "how cheap can I get one" threads, price had to be considered near the top of a buyer's priority list.

Teach,

I think all the performance upgrades you are talking about are good for the hardcore track enthusiast, and as I have recently become addicted to the track I will be doing most of those upgrades to my 08' 1125. I could be wrong, but most of us who use our bikes as daily riders, are simply look to upgrade the exhaust, performance tune it a bit and get the full fairing as seen on the 1125R pace bike. I love my 1125R and Buell (this is my third). Just give me the stock bike with full fairing and redirect the exhaust off the back tire...that can't be that much more expensive?

We can offer any combination of the bike that I had described. We can use the Buell race fairing, the Buell side fairings or the GSD fairing and belly pan.

My bike has the GSD fairing/bellypan.

Easy.

Any of the sponsor dealers would do that for you and could have it done as soon as you wanted to pick it up.

I wanted some of the Ulysses Police Package for use on my Ulysses and the dealer had the parts I needed in days.

Do you have the strobes and sirens now with the "comm" package? I'll bet that gets you through traffic in a hurry ;+}

But officer they are just white strobes to keep me from getting run over ;+} ;+}

No more . . . this is the kit I used to have in my old truck along with a 100W UHF radio and hidden strobes in all the external lights.

In New York City, with more unmarked than marked cars (think 10,000+) and after I got stopped twice I found that the locals have a "diminished" sense of humor.

But . . . you'd love this one . . . leaving Times Square around 9:30pm last Tuesday night I made a move that Joey Chitwood would have been proud of . . . . no sooner do I round the corner than I see the flashing lights coming fast.

I pulled over, shut the engine off, tossed the keys out the window as the guy walked up and had both arms hanging out the window extended in plain sight and all the interior lights on. . . . .(good idea in NYC).

Nice young officer walks up . . . . and asks "can you tell me why you did that".

I said . . . . "that's easy . . . . I'm a idiot . . . any tough questions?".

He laughed. Handed me my keys and told me not to do it again.

I'm going to start behaving.

I'd completely forgotten I had this crud in boxes. . . . thanks for reminding me . . . . off to e-Bay baby! . . unless you want it for your 1125!

: )

We will have to search Youtube for the video. I'm sure that you key trick caught him off guard.

Yeah sure I can put that in my tailpack and hook up the trailer with the "gen-set".

Won't it fit on the KLR?

That's JUST the siren module . . . the radio is about 40# and in a case about 4" tall x 20" long x 14" wide.

The good news is that it rocks . . . I can hit the repeater at my house from the Tappan Zee.
