G'day - I started a thread a while back regarding a LUNGE in 1st, off the mark and sometimes out of a slow corner. It is fixed. There were a couple of replies that dealt with the possibility of a worn 'dog' or teeth snapped of 1st cog but the gears were all OK! It turned out to be a little spring that helps the clutch plate engage!!!! Oh well I upgraded to a Barnett Clutch System for the trouble and it's even better than it was before! As a point of interest there were no filing or shredded metal of any kind at the bottom of the tranny - Very Happy! |

Sweet, I've been wondering what that was...I guess I'll be getting a new clutch now! It progressively gets worse and will work it's way into other gears...LOL |

I have that too, I wonder if removing my spring plate and replacing it with the metal and fiber plates that Buellistic recommends would also solve it? |

"removing my spring plate and replacing it with the metal and fiber plates that Buellistic recommends would also solve it?" Although the "grenade plate" mod eliminates a known weak link, it will make clutch engagements a little less refined. Since you're riding a tuber anyway - I don't think that a smooth, refined experience is what you're after but there's my $0.02 nonetheless. |

Thanks Pk, I'll have to ask Preybird how he likes his new clutch when he gets his bike back. Maybe an aftermarket replacement is in order... |

"Since you're riding a tuber anyway - I don't think that a smooth, refined experience is what you're after" You can't use Tuber, Refined, and Smooth in one sentence... |

My tuber runs on refined petroleum, which I sometimes accidentally spill on my smooth tank over. |
