Dumb question folks. What is the difference between Parkway Blue and Demon Blue on an S2. I've seen Parkway blue in person but not Demon blue. The Parkway is more of a purple than a blue, the Demon blue looks simular in pictures. How about in person.... Brad |

Parkway Blue looks purple...no mistake about it. Black Sapphire Pearl looks almost black...a very very dark color with a hint of deep blue/purple. Demon Blue is an S3 color that is not as dark as Black Sapphire Pearl. (My profile has a Demon Blue S3) http://www.sporttwin.com/paintformulas.html DAve |

Here is a project I’ve wanted to do for a while. I am installing a seat under tray for my 1998 S1WL. A good quality piece made from sturdy fiberglass. Made by Euro components and sold in the USA by Dave Stueve of Iowa harley HD Waterloo IA 1-800-342-7539 ext 14 dave@iowaharley.com

It is actually 3 pieces glassed together as one component. It has a built in license plate bracket, which puts your plate in a nice perfectly visible position for cops and traffic cameras behind you ( dammn ) This European design accommodates the much larger Euro plates and as such leaves a fairly large gap between the rear lens and the smaller American plates. |

I resolved this by making from 22gauge alum a small shelf to which I attached a back off light module. It fills the gap nicely, but there is till the slots cut in the tray that look..hmm fugly. The tray attaches by using the rearmost bolt for the oil bag. I choose to make 2 small holes and using 1 well nut on each side attach the under tray to the stock bodywork. If you do this make sure to tape off the painted part to avoid the drill bit walking and scratching the paint. Fit was pretty good. After using the screws it is very secure with only a small gap area where the bulge of the turn signals are. This is only apparent from looking up at the tray from underneath the bike.

The tray comes with turn signals, I’m looking for a set of clear lenses to match my tail light. The plan is to paint it carbon black like the rest of my bike. I’m doing that tonight and will post picture of the finished install. After I finished this trial fit I took the bike on my normal Sunday run, 150 miles and aside from the look of the primmer color, it was well received in public. I think it extends the look of the tail section and definitely gives a more finished look to the rear of the S1W.

Thanks John, I'm an engineer and a neat freak. I was laid off a while ago and did some day labor with a friend who has a construction company. We laid Vinyl Composite Tile in some day care centers. He gave me the left over Armstrong VCT in black and white tiles. A typical cement slab garage it was a fairly easy install, took most of a day. The tile is the type found in grocery stores etc. The wax I used initially would reactivate when wet and get slippery so I found some clear flooring epoxy and used a product called Sharkgrip, micronized clear polymer spheres that suspend in the epoxy to give it a textured surface for slip resistance. Looks ok, thanks for the compliment. |

seeu . . .I, too, was laid off for a while (hope you're back working, U), and managed to wash out most of the Mammoth dung from MY garage! yours makes me think you don't spend 1/4 of your time saying, "now where did I put that thing?" while wandering around with that thing in your hand (smile) |

Donn, I'm glad you didn't sell the S1W. She's a true work of art. The fact that you actually ride it makes it even more cool. Thanks for taking the time to share. |

Donn: Welcome back! Where have you been hiding? ...pssst...have you noticed your taillight and back-off lights are not lined up on each other? you might wanna look at that before you paint...I only mention it 'cause I know your standards are high when it comes to appearance, and it jumped off the screen at me... r-t |

I'm almost ashamed to post any pictures after seeing that S1W, that is perfection. I have been trying to think of a fender eliminator for my S2 and have yet to come up with something. I have just sent my tank cover to the body shop to fix a dealer flub and the faring to fix my flub. Ben |

Donn, I'm currently "without position" too. Are you still slumming? Let's ride! Maybe I can talk you into helping make Emm as perfect as the S1. Check my profile. You'll see where I am. I've got the spirit but not the ability. JT |

Anyone out there know where I can get a fairing for my X1? I am in Germany and at autobahn speeds the wind is a bit much. Thanks Jason |
