Do they offer this in any other finish except CHROME? I know it's ceramic coated... Is black an option? Or how about brushed? |

Fellas the HPE is made of Inconel; which refers to a family of austenitic nickel-chromium-based superalloys. Inconel alloys are typically used in high temperature applications. North American Aviation constructed the skin of the X-15 rocket plane out of an Inconel alloy known as "Inconel X". Directly from Wikipedia. I am fairly certain the gloss you see on the HPE is due to the actual finish of inconel, not resultant of chroming or otherwise. It did turn a nice bronze color after some miles. As for a drive by video - I'll try and get some shot this evening for you guys. Its pretty cold and damp though. I've also tweaked the fueling a bit to address the stumbling down low at large throttle openings (3-5k) - I'll let you know how it goes! Taker easy! |

My 1125R stranded me yesterday... my fault though, I had it fueling waaay to rich and it fouled the plugs (110 locked). Had to push it home... such is life! On that note - I brought the AFV's back down to nearly the learned (95) values (with 02 disabled) and it behaved MUCH better. Strange indeed; I woulda thought it wanted more fuel - I guess not... As for the drive by video - I took one - its bad though. A lot of nothing followed by a few fast passes and flash of an 1125R on its rear wheel - then silence again. I'm not posting it, its gay. Maybe if the weather warms up some I'll shoot another. Take my word for it though - it sounds good on the bike & my friends commented they could hear me about 2 miles away when I was wide open. PS. The collector pipe downwind of the Y-joint is about 2" 1/4 inches in diameter. (Message edited by T_Man on October 03, 2009) |
