I GOT A PHONE CALL FROM HENRY DUGA TODAY! I had mailed a letter to him asking if he had any information about number 12, and he gave me a call. Henry says he remembers the HMC bike racing and doing pretty well with Shawn Conrad aboard. He checked his records, and my number 0012 race only frame was sold originally to Crossroads Performance (I guess I need to write another letter). His records didn't show HMC as purchasing a race frame. He says they don't have much old race stuff around, but that the front number plate is still available from Buell. He recommended the BWB web page and Al at American Sport Bike for help with parts. Henry said the Lightning Series restricted bikes to 95 rwhp, and they were dyno'd if they won to verify it. He said S1's were perfect for the series, but that some people tried racing S2's. He said the S2 proved too heavy and didn't do well. That was very cool of him to call, and I do very much appreciate his time and recollections. |
