How about some case guards like the Jap bikes have. Lay it down, grinds through the protective case. My experience is that that pod takes the brunt of it as well as the swing arm. $6 skateboard wheel sliders on the rear axle looks after it, and the pods are relatively cheap. The bike lowsides quite well on the left. Haven't tried the right side yet.

They should have soft bolts that break away and not damage the engine case.
for this you actually want hard bolts. higher grade bolts offer better shere points where lower grade bolts tend to stretch be for they break} |

Last year I got hit so hard in my leg by a busa rider, that my left alone dented my frame!
So it can happen! |

Here's the result of a right-side slide (after a cartwheel):
The pod, clutch case cover, right side rider's foot-peg, right side bar end/grip and right side of tail plastics were all mangled as a result of the slide.
The other damage was from the cartwheel.
Oh, and don't worry... these pics are almost a year-and-a-half old. Vicky has been all back together for more than a year and has over 38,000 miles on her now. |

I slid Loretta out the parking lot at work a year ago.
A week before, I got and installed sliders from Dark Horse, good timing for once.
All fixed...
