So I had ordered some Ulysses bars for the STT so i can have a more upright position and I installed them a couple days ago. So far, I can ride much farther without my wrist hurting or my back. Problem with having this more upright position is the amount of wind slamming me around. I tried a stock Ulysses windshield but all that did was have all the wind hit me directly in the neck and throw my head around. Well I want to order a custom windshield from CeeBaileys but dont have the cash. So I looked around around the shops around here and found a beat up BMW GS windshield. Having already drilled holes in my flyscreen for the Ulysses I figured i cant make it look much worse so I drill 2 more holes(ouch thats 5 holes not supposed to be there!) and fitted it to fit. I did a test run with it and it is PERFECT! bike feels amazing with the up right position and the windshield at the perfect height that the wind hits just the top of my helmet. SCORE! cost me 82 for the bars and 15 for the winshield. Best 100 dollars i could have spent! Also riding season is pretty much over up here in Alaska so me and my girlfriend decided to go as far north as we could with the conditions. made it as far as Glennallen before there was too much snow on the ground and was getting below freezing(wet roads get scary on a bike). just thought I would show some pics! the new bars. about 3 inches taller than the stock STT. had to reroute all the cables and lines but all the stock ones work!  the setup. yes thats snow if you have never seen it before...:doh  the ol lady at the Caribou hotel in Glennallen AK. She was a real trooper seeing we were never in above 42 degrees for 400 miles. i made here wear tons of layers...  snow! very nice!  love the new shield. riders view from Alaska!  Rachel all bundled up  some great views    and i felt like trying out the Buells power. it does burnouts really easy!  | ||

Great job!, I just got a STT and want to do exactly what you've done. Could you please post some pics or try to explain, in detail, how you rerouted wires, cables, etc. Have you done anything to lower the pegs? I'm trying to figure a way to do that on the cheap also. Again, great job on the mods! Murf2 | ||

hey murf all I did was take off everything on the bars and fitted up the Ulysses bars then took off the flyscreen and cut some zip ties off the wire bundles to give them slack. after that you can pull your throttle and idle cable through (after you take off the throttle tube) and run it out of behind the flyscreen. I had to pull the brake line out out the stock mounts for the cable to have enough slack. as for the clutch cable all I did was yank some slack to the top part of the bars and fitted up perfect. as for the windshield I just measured the stock holes on the GS windshield and centered on the top part of the flyscreen and drilled some holes. I used 1 inch spacers(from ace hardware) and some new bolts to attach the windshield to the flyscreen. i also used two zip ties to attach the windshield to the bars. hope this helps man | ||

yes, no passengers because the bike didnt come with footpefs or a strap. it now has footpegs... | ||
