>>I have no idea the name of the color but I know of an RSS that is a Charcoal, almost black metalic flake with a ghost Buell on the tank. That's Janice. |

Nice progress, Frank. Amazing how much can get done when there aren't any distractions around! I missed how this one moved up the priority scale. Just something looking at you that could be done? |

Roger, it is funny how these things work. On my good days I enjoy hanging in the garage and turning a wrench just as much as being on the road. I was just going to tear it down to store away until I did some other things but the more I looked at it the more I wanted to bring it back to life. Any restoration cost money and takes a lot of time. Doing a rebuild without worrying about how it came from the factory is easy in comparison. I have a plan. Or I should say I have my $hit together, I just forgot where I put it. The only thing with a rebuild is it takes money. The 17th is my last day at work and think I will take a little break and work on some bikes or go on a road trip. I started looking for another job but I have not been trying real hard. Unlike the S1W the next two or three rebuilds will be slower and I hope to have a lot of fun with them. This S2 started with a set of bags that were owned by 1313 many moons ago. I have those bags and wanted to use them (they are not your standard S2 bags as they do not have cut outs for the turn signals). I could not see hacking up one of my S2s to use them then along came this left over frame from someone's chopper project. I traded some parts for it and brought it home. I still need a motor but am thinking of putting the S1W motor in it when I repaint the S1W frame. Hell, I just like looking at the bare frame. It is a neat design. |

I think about color options on an S2 quite a bit. I'm still not sure what I'm going to do with mine. On one hand I kinda hate to change the frame color since it's an S2T model, and there aren't a lot of those. However I think the frame needs more attention and the charcoal gray just doesn't "pop" Black over metallic/translucent green would be different |

Thanks for the color suggestions. Everyone has a different perspective and that is great. I really like the nickel coated and orange frames but think I will go to the Powder Coaters and see what they have. I am thinking something real close to what Loren suggested. Silver Metal Flake frame with Royal Blue bodywork (or the reverse) and PM wheels. |

Thanks Brad. I added some chrome today and if Onahog is listening I finally found a use for that chrome sidestand.

I am thinking about this for the dash. http://www.translogicuk.com/micro-dash-2-hd-vr.htm I wish I had the manual to see how it hooks up. |

That thing is exactly what I was looking for a few months ago, but IIRC V&H wants like $1500 for it. |

$1,500, Damn I will pass on that. My other idea is to just mount a GPS and a mini tach or find something cheaper. |

Actually, I just looked it up and it is $799. Not nearly as bad as I thought, but still pricey. Too bad the Veypor VR2 looks like a clusterf*** of numbers or I'd get one of them and run it on the dash. Veypor also makes a HUD unit that mounts on your visor to either compliment the VR2 or act as a standalone unit. |

Roger, good to hear from you again. I have always liked the stock foot rest but will get some other ones for this project (most likely Nightster pegs like Loren). These will be going on the S2T since they are in good shape and mine are falling apart. |

Frank, watch ebay for the pegs. They are used on the Vrod too. New they cost about $33ea. The "boomerang" is part of the "Art" on the bikes IMHO. |

No, boomerangs aren't worth much. In fact, I'll give you $5 just 'cause I'm a nice guy and want to help you get it out of your way! (Somehow I have 2 and they're both bent) On a serious note, the screens I had made for the tank, fairing, and S2 logos worked out nicely on mine. Beats trying to clean/wax between stickers if you're not trying to go for a restoration. The shop is willing to make me new screens for a fee. Lemme know if you're interested. |

I too would be interested in screens, Roger, if I may. Frank. Carb and shift lever will be in the mail. And I should have noticed and mentioned before Rex scooped (or gave away) his, but it doesn't have the enricher cable. |

Frank/Sporty, I need some touch-up on a couple parts and wanted to stop by the shop tonight but didn't get out of work early enough. That happens to me quite a bit - I'll just go in late tomorrow! I'll let you know what it'll take for a screen set. |

Court, it is hard to tell the color but it those are charcoal grey that came stock on the S2T then yes, that is what I need. Just to let you and everyone else know. I have two projects going on at this time. I guess one at a time is not challenging enough LOL. The reason was more due to poor timing on my part. The 95 S2 Custom and a 1996 S2-T restoration. These wheels will be for the restoration. Lynn has been great, between two bikes being torn down, various body work in the basement and my cat rescue yesterday, the garage and basement look like a Buell bomb went off and kittens decided to take up refuge in the aftermath. It is all good and rescuing the cats makes Lynn happy so I think, at this moment in time, I can get away with a set of S2T wheels showing up for the restoration project. Frank |

Hahahaha . . . nah . . I am trying to sort out the legal issues in getting 4 entities to play nicely on a $2B offshore wind farm. The minute you say "Green Energy" everybody want to be your partner. . . including SOME folks who should be end users but just want to advertise they are in "Green Power". To date, I've narrowed it to four possible commercial arrangements. I favor one of them, we'll see how it flies. But . . the lingerie thing has been an absolute cash cow!

Court - I see the "ST-1" marking on that front rotor. I have one (it, and the one in your pics, make two total that I've seen like that) that also has the marking. Is it something different? Or just a vendor stamp? Frank - if you need new peg rubbers, just let me know. We have boxes of OEM pegs laying around from folks who "upgrade" the ones on their new bikes....and I've got a few sets myself as spares. The big cushy rubber isn't the sexiest...but damn, it works for killing the vibrations! |

Joe, I noticed the ST-1 but had no idea what it meant. I like the stock pegs as well for comfort. I need four of them in new condition for the restoration. The Custom project will get some uncomfortable ones I had on a sporty. |
