OK, here goes. My Uly's bat died (I do use a tender every day)I replaced it thinking all would be well. A day later the bikes gauges went dead and shortly there after the bike died. Used jumpers for about 10min to charge it up some and ran for home (5mi) when I got home it was ready to die again. So I broke down and ordered the manual from American Sport Bike and it just came in. Going through the tests the bat seems good at 13.1V, with the VOM on when running at idle I get 13.7V (but jumps around) and at anything over 1500rpm I get a pretty steady 14.3V. I checked the #77 connector, it looks fine and I measured bat power through it. Doing the stator ground checks I found no grounds from any of the 3 points. When I checked for AC power while running I got none crossing any of the 3 points. So how can I have no AC power from the stator and still get 14.something DC volts when running at the bat? WTF? What am I jacking up? Steve |

Relay shorting to earth. Check/replace your relays. |

My first thought (thinking out of the box) would be, was the meter on the AC scale? |

Looking in the manual I don't see anything labeled a "relay" that could cause this to happen. Am I just missing something obvious? I need to get this puppy fixed, planning to hit the Dragon next month! Steve |

The relays are in the fuse box on my 12R so I am assuming that the Uly has a similar setup. |
