Is it me or is there alot of complaints about the 1125R? my self and pitcrew bought a total of 3 08' 1125R's and the only problem we had was a clutch problem...But it was human error AFTER the trans oiling upgrade..they screwed up when they put it back together... other than that...a good tune ...we are good owning a bike shop i see more problems with more comon machines but people seem to accept them...when it comes to BUELL..one little freaking thing and its front page news i have owned a bunch of machines..all makes and models...enjoyed them all!!! i choose BUELL MY $.02 JT |

I agree; my early build '08 has had ZERO problems, burned ZERO oil and has never let me down once. AND I bought this bike as salvage to boot! Aside from poor factory fueling this bike is probably the best bike I've ever owned. Methinks it likes to be ridden hard and doesn't suffer nancy boy riding well... but thats just a hunch. |

Jersey, I am with you. i have not actually been really riding with my 1125r. but, this is the bike i chose. With the proper maintenance and proactive maintenance this bike can be as good as any other. I have had many opportunities and encouragements to swing in other bike directions and i almost was there. But with what i have felt in this bike. I ALSO CHOOSE BUELL!!! VIVA LA BUELLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

>>>Is it me or is there a lot of complaints about the 1125R? My theory . . . and it's just that . . . is that the nominal number of problems isn't that great. But, the folks who do have problems are very vocal. Kinda cool as this is the age of the internet and "instant communication". When you look at the ACTUAL numbers of occurrences . . . it's nothing at all out of line and better than most manufacturers. I posted, just last week, the 2008 recalls for ALL motorcycles to illustrate how underrepresented Buell was. I can understand that if it were MY bike . . . well, I'd be pissed. But the facts support that the 1125R is doing quite well in service. For the record . . . since it seems to matter to some of the "new breed" . . I don't own one. |

Court I understand that! You're more if a S2 kinda guy and after having owned one myself, I understand the S2 sickness! I miss my S2 all the time, and given the choice I would have gotten rid of the 1125 before the S2 but since I owe so much money in my 1125, I'm stuck with it for atleast another 5 years. Now that's not saying I don't love my 1125, because it's been almost totally problem free, it rides and handles perfectly and has stupid lots of power. It's just that S2's have a power over riders of them that you cannot describe. |

i am new here but so far i love my 09 R. i have had several problems but the dealers and warranty have taken care of everything so i am not really worried about it. before 750 miles 1. left radiator fan went out 2. no high beam operation 3. o2 sensor died before 1200 miles 1. lost kick stand spring and extension arm, nearly lost the bike as i was turning and the kick stand hit a hole or something and popped the bike up. 2. (dealer error) lost oil from loose drain plug now at 2000 miles 1. both radiator pods black plastic has faded and developed white spots. 2. lost lighting on the gauges 3. sticking throttle when closing throttle still after all that i wouldn't change this bike for anything. i enjoy it more than my previous bikes (ninja 600, katana 600, R1, SV1000S), and they had there fair share of recalls and issues. |

Outside of a bad fuse, and some noise( and the noise just might be me being overly nervous about my new bike) I love this bike. And I can pat myself on the back for going with the Buell instead of the ZX10R that I had every intention of buying. This bike has given me more smiles per mile than I had ever expected. |

>>>You're more if a S2 Actually I am more of an RS-1200 guy . . . I rode my shiny 1990 Buell everywhere. The S2 was "new fangled" when HD jumped into the picture. But, you are right . . having ridden it in 44 states . . I've grown fond of it . . although I haven't seen it in 3 years. Lately I've been riding the Ulysses. . . completely trouble free, an absolute joy and the gold standard in terms of bikes to while awhile long hours of back roads on . . . I'm off for a 400 mile adventure tomorrow. |

Had a few minor issues with the bike all that were taken care of with the dealer behind me 100%. But man this bike is just horrible! What a POS brand this is! I mean I get it fixed and take it to a track and it RAN GREAT with no issues....COME ON! Ohhhh there was one issue... TIRES! That's Buell's fault right there... I just get so sick of hearing the whiney stories. People on this board have bad luck, I gotcha, we try and give advice and help, and they freak out and whine even more. It just kills me. Go own something else then so you'll have a real something or other to bitch about. 2008 Buell 1125r with 7500 very happy miles on it...Thanks Buell! |

I got to say: I am one of the ones with a cursed (June 08) bike. I've had 4 repairs to the clutch cover (OK, OK --- the last one was because I dropped the bike), a new cluster (which took 3 times in the shop to get right), a leak in my rear master cylinder, a dead battery (the week after I bought the bike), and 2 dead turn signals. Except for the turn signals and the battery every single service kept the bike in the shop M-F (or longer). But because of my extended warranty, I haven't been without a bike the whole time. And, except for the few miscues, the service has been entirely satisfactory. And I have gotten a lot of help and advice from you guys. Oh. Sorry, I forgot to mention: I LOVE THIS BIKE. Mine's been as solid as any other bike I've owned. Actually, it's been more so, to this point. My '04 Sportster needed new intake gaskets, got a new ECM flash and had a front master cylinder recall. My '07 XB12R needed new intake gaskets. My '09 1125CR has needed a new flash and that's it. The clutch has started to leak VERY slowly which I intend to get fixed, but doesn't keep me from riding at all. As I have it set up right now, there is literally NO other bike I'd rather have in the history of the planet. True story. Now, that's not to say there are many I would like to have in addition to, but that's for another thread... This gives me an idea... |

I am very happy with my 09 1125R as I was with my 096 XB12R. The only issues I have are as follows 1).CEL/LFL - will it return this winter I wonder. 2).slight condensation in the IC - being watched. 3).I am paranoid about the clutch weep issue, so far so good but not really got that many miles on the bike yet. Otherwise the bike is like a Firebolt but with more power. |

I'm having a blast on serial # 142 1125r. I only have 10000 miles on it, but I do have a garage bay full of buells which I can't ignore! My big complaint is that it doesn't have a spin on oil filter! This bike is so much fun! |

I think alot of it comes down to the Dealer. If you have problems with your bike and your dealer takes care of you then you will probably be ok. Otherwise not, I think alot of the complaints come from folks with less than stellar dealers. |

Its never fun having a bike with several little problems when its new. You have to make a appointment,a lot of times in the working time of the week, along ways from home, only to be told "we don't have that part here, we did but not now,, I donno what happened". For me it was the most money I spent on a bike. I can see why some buyers are nervous everytime something goes wrong. The sound of the engine at idle and lower rpms can make most nervous,, and your non riding friends don't help remarking, "what the hell is wrong with that thing!" They were expecting an engine/exhaust sound a little more equal to the mean look of the bike. The unfortunate part is that they will never know what the real attraction is until they experience it for themselves, which will likely be never. To me, it's a Bad Motor Scooter! and Very capable in all the performance areas. It stands it's ground within the the ranks of some of the best bikes made,, in that arena, it's a bargain! Thanks for this post. I'm lurking on the other sites as I plan on adding to my stable at some point in the future. My 03 formerly-known-as-Buell Blast is rock-solid with no issues (Riders Edge bike, to boot)@ 10K and the horror stories I'm hearing sort of scare me off. I pestered the Thumper Forum for some time to get an accurate idea of what the issues are. I'll keep lurking, if you keep posting. |

1125 superbike board seems to have just too many gripes and ill working bits and pieces with this bike. They may be tearing up the track, but don't seem too reliable to me. But truth be known I'v stopped riding after 40 years on bikes of one kind or another, Buell being my last. I came here just curious to see what you'all were up to, instead a steady list of complaints. That seems to be one thing Buell is consistant with....Hope you guys with the 11's get them sorted out and riding again. |

Gohot, sorry to offend you, but you have NO effing clue what you are talking about nor is there really any point to your comment. You don't ride anymore and you certainly don't own a Buell 1125. Bye now. (Message edited by fresnobuell on September 24, 2009) |

"Hope you guys with the 11's get them sorted out and riding again." What's to sort out? I ride mine every day. I think that was Jersey_Thunder's point at the start of this thread.....that the bikes run great.... now wasn't it? |

I cant wait to get home every weekend and get the 1125R out for a spin whilst her indoors plays golf with her sons, then we can go out for a cruise on the HD. The 1125R has to be the best allround sports bike I have owned and being a happy Firebolt owner up until buying the 1125R I never would have thought that the Firebolt would have been bettered never mind equaled. |

I've got an '08 R and the only problem I've ever had with it is finding enuf time to ride. I like the fact that the Buell company and cycle were kicked off within my lifetime and the founder is still around and breathing. The HonKawaZukiYams have been around forever. How did Virginia Slim's put it? "You've come a long way baby". Ride On! |

Yes, my '08 1125R is a great bike... no reliability issues whatsoever. Every manufacturer has problems! This board is afflicted with a vocal minority, and you don't get the perspective that the vast majority of owners are quite satisfied. |
