Hi Guys Need a little help. I have a 2002 Blast that has a broken speedo. It's not registering mph when bike is running or clocking any miles. I did the diagnostic test that I found on the forum and it came back with one fault d02SET. I know it refers to this: d02 Speed sensor power output shorted high or open. But I have no idea what that means or what I should do. I assume there is a fault with the speed sensor, but not sure. Any thoughts? Cheers Teeny |

Post that in the Thumper section, they are the Blast specialists. Sounds like the speed sensor needs to be cleaned or replaced, which isn't hard to do. |

What's up, guys! My name's Ryan and I just bought a new 07 Uly. Since I previously worked in a dealership here in southern California, I had ample opportunity to ride this machine before buying it, so I knew going in that this was the bike for me. Absolutely amazing machine... I love it!! I hope to spend some time on this forum and get to know other Buellers out there, as well as learn more about my bike. |

Another longtime lurker here. Never took time to register. Well it's done now and I guess I should say at long last. At the present moment have a 08 12X and just picked up an 04 12R las Sat. Just found out the today that the R has has has quite a bit of engine work done. Geez I thought it ran like some kind of raped ape. Have to track down the former owner to find out(he traded it in on a 1125R) Having the dealership give him My phone#. The Uly replaced an 06 Lightning that i would like to say I wore out, But WELL UUUH truthfully it wore me out.I'm 6'3"and around 265 depending on the season. I know you all ask "Ok the Lightning wore him out why add a Firebolt???" My answer to that is I er whll uhh huum really don't know just yet I think I can safely say I saw it and there was just no turning back oh BTW mileage a time of purchase was 3200 like I said I just couldn't let it go...... One other thing... Wife had only on thing to say about it "Where are U going to put it" Yup I picked a good one this time. |

Long time lurker and proud to say finally made time to register. Had a nice intro to post but it somehow got lost as I posted it. This time will be short and sweet Live south of Kansas City Mo At the present time have an 08 ULY and an 04 Firebolt. Just picked up the 12r Last Sat. Having had in the past an 06 Lightning ss. Also in the stable is an 03 Screemin Eagle Road King. Also wanted to say the vast amount of info on the Bad Web is incredible. I hope I can someday add my 2 cents worth and help someone as much as I have been helped by You all. Will say this last thing before I start to sound like I am rattling on and on. I can now proudly say I am a recovered lurker. |

Greetings all, I've been hanging/lurking about since mid May. And, on Friday June 12, I bought my first Buell. An 1125R. I have to admit, it is without question, the most Butt ugliest bike I have ever owned. But it has more than lived up to what I expected from it. I'm quite happy with it. A side note, this is my first bike in 26 years or so. the re-learning curve has been steep, but fun. BTW, your web site was recommended to me by the Buell tech at the dealer I bought from. |

Hello, I just bought my Firebolt xb12R from the HD dealership and they pointed me to this site. I haven't had a chance to lurk around much as I've been working like crazy but I can't wait to see what this forum has to off and see what I might be able to offer it. I'm in southern Cali. If anyone else rides in this area let me know.

Hi, I own a 03' Lightning, and ride the hell out of it. I am just wondering if there is any one out there that may be having the same problem I am having. When the bike gets wet it stops running, stops charging and eventually just stops. I leave it alone for a few days and it stars right up again. It just does not like water, therefore I refrain from giving it a bath. Any help in diagnosing the problem would be greatly appreciated. claude |

Post this in the applicable Knowledge Vault section, but anyway sounds like your issue is related to a bad ground for bad spark plug wires. Change the plug wires first, see how it goes. (Message edited by blake on September 04, 2009) |

Hey everyone. Just visited the site for the first time last night. I have been looking at the Buell Uly for awhile now and have pretty much decided I want one. I will hopefully be doing a demo ride this weekend. A little about me: I live near the Orlando, FL area and have for the last 22years. I have been into BMWs for the last 25 years or so and have owned/own a bunch of them.I am currently riding a 94 R1100RS and a Kawa 650 KLR. I love the looks and attitude of the Buell. I will most likely be looking for a used Uly with under 12,000 miles. I'm checking out any issues I should be familiar with when looking for a used one. You all have a great family here, thanks for the time. Larry |

new to the board and hopefully new to buell. i've been following what buell's been doing since the company was essentially in eric buell's garage. at this point, i race an sv and street ride a husky sm510r. i have the husky for sale and i want to buy a buell xb12r. i just rode one and really liked it (reminded me a lot of my old monster s4r, without all of the lean surging and brakes ). i'm attracted to the unusual, i guess. not sure if i'll buy an '07 or an '09. i can get deals on both (as i'm sure everyone else can too). anyway, looking forward to looking around. |

Hey Tony - welcome! I also raced an SV - and the XB. SV had GSXR front and Penske rear. Nuttin wrong with it though the XB ended up working better for me overall (just raced again yesterday) Something to consider is that in 2008, they re-designed the bottom end so it has much larger big end bearings and also redesigned the oiling system. When I rebuilt my XB, I put the new flywheels and had the bigger bearings put in. Raced it for 52 races so far this year and haven't had to pull it apart. SV is a great machine but there's a LOT you can do to the XB without having to buy a lot of suspension stuff (like cartridge emulators or having to install/remove shims to change preload) Had a lot of fun on mine (before front end swap - cartridge emulators and GSXR shock):

slaughter, i'd love to race a buell (or a 1000ss/ds), but the sv is so cheap and fun. the buell would be my street bike. however it should be noted that my gsxr750, husky and 636 all started off as, "i'll never take it to the track" bikes. |

Hello, not sure if this is the proper introduction spot. Been checking out info for a while, just bought a 2006 Uly last night. Pretty excited to start putting it through its paces around the Frontrange of CO (Fort Collins)! Previous bikes for background, a 2002 dyna lowrider, Honda 919, Honda 954, Honda VFR Interceptor, a couple dirtbikes, and just sold my 91 FXR, that I had rebuilt with a S&S 113, 6 speed, and wideglide front end. |
