Does anyone have one or the ability to make one? I'm 5'7" (see my handlebar thread in the steering head section) and need to lower the bike about an inch. I know American Sport Bike used to sell them, anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks!
Chad

Since I didn't recieve any replies, I snooped around here with no luck, but I was reading that there was more than one length rear shock? Which one is on my 02 X1? Can I use a longer one to lower the bike??

Help! Anyone?

Chad

There is a 2-1 ratio between the swingarm travel at the axle and the shock mount. This means if you move the shock mount 1/2" rearward you will get the 1" drop you are looking for. Be careful though. My rear tire on my M2 was making contact with my oil tank with the stock ride height position. I modified my front shock mount in the other direction to gain another inch in ride height. I cut it and welded in a wedge.

So I finally got around to working on this. So far I have bought the Handle bar risers from American Sport Bike, and lowered the forks. Next I had a friend machine a new front shock bracket to lower the rear for me. What do you think?

Thanks,
Chad

It sure looks purty. It must be out of aluminum? Custom welded and machined then??

Nope. Regular Steel. Just had it powder coated gloss black last night. Looks awesome. This guy would probably make a couple more if anyone is interested. He hasn't given me a number yet, but I remember a company selling them years ago for $300, so I bet he would be somewhere in the $100-$200 range.
