my back wheel on my 08 1125r is pretty dirty... ive used some cleaners but nothing really gets off the, what seems to be permanent dark stains on them... any suggestions to what would help clean them up? | ||

LOVE my black wheels. Hides the crud better than anything. The orange wheels on my XB12Ss looked GREAT, but were a real PITA to keep looking great. Don't miss them at all. | ||

I love my black wheels too. And I'll second the WD-40. I use it to get the chain lube and crud off of my Gixxer wheels. Buell wheels have always been easy to clean with soap and water. If you have brake dust, a little Eagle 1 wheel cleaner will do the trick and is safe on the paint. | ||

Every 1125r owner has the issue with the exhaust "browning" the rear wheel and caliper. I found a solution: believe it or not, Harley Davidson Wheel Cleaner. It's about $7 a bottle, and works like a champ. Spray on, light brushing, wash off. I got a small detail kit when I purchased my second 1125r. It came with glaze, sunwash and tire/wheel cleaner. I didn't expect much, but decided to try them the other day and what I found was that all three were really great products. In particular, that wheel cleaner. I've used simple green in the past, and with LOTS of brushing and elbow grease, it will do some good. But this Harley stuff -- it's spray on, let sit 1 minute, light brush... DONE! Very much recommended. | ||

My wheel was black. and i tried simple green and a brilow pad. too much elbow grease involved. this WESTLEYS spray on and wash off, too and at 3.95 a bottle. | ||

I don' know about Westleys but I use Amorall Triple Action Wheel cleaner. I spray it on then wash the rest of the bike. By the time I get to the wheels it's ready to wipe away the wheel grime. Nothing but a wet wash cloth and some running water to do the job.   | ||

I'll vouch for the ArmorAll wheel cleaner.  It did an outstanding easy job of cleaning the candy blue wheels that I had neglected ever since getting the 1125R. Once they were clean I gave 'em a protective wax coating to help preserve the finish. |
