Shawn Higbee just tweeted he's selling his 1125R, race tires, etc. Given his budget, I don't think he's getting a 1125RR, so that leaves me to wonder if he's going to race a different make of bike next year, go back to working at HD, or...? |

Shawn was with Buell Motorcycle Company, never Harley-Davidson Motor Company that I know of. Speculating or wondering is not helpful. It invites gossip. Gossip sucks. |

Don't mean to be rude. Let's let Shawn speak for himself, and wish him well no matter his chosen path. |

Shawn worked for Buell and quit to race . . . he's a talented engineer, rider and genuinely nice guy. No matter what he chooses to do I'll enjoy watching him. He's a refreshing talent. |

When I saw Shawn at Elkhart Lake I gave Him a bunch of cash and told Him where to go. Being a RACEist, He will do as he will. Once a RACEist, always a RACEist. Proud of His accomplishments and KNOW He is a WINNER. If I had the funds I'd still be out skimming the tarmac too! RACEism is a terrible thing |

I've had the pleasure of hanging out with him a number of times at Willow. Truly a nice guy. My best wishes for him whatever he decides. |

I don't think Shawn was getting out of racing, and I sure hope I'm right. The tweet I got from him indicated that he has 3 1125Rs right now, and is looking to sell 2 of them. One is the bike from the Daytona 200, and the other is his stock track day bike. With only one bike left, maybe he's going to focus on a single class next year? I guess only he know what the future holds... (Message edited by ponti1 on September 18, 2009) |

As far as I know, guys Shawn will be out at willow this weekend. So anyone interested in watching him in action(and he truly is amazing)should come down and support buell racing. It's 10 bucks plus whatever gas it takes to get there.it'll be hot but it's worth it.So if you don't have anyother thing to do come down and watch him beat the ducatis. And were talking 1098R's here. |

Shawn IS coming to Willow. I think Buell contingency money is still on until October. Those of us in the back field just try and not get lapped by him! |

If Shawn turns a wheel, he DOMINATES. He won both heavy Twins races - Formula Twins Heavyweight and BOTT (Battle Of The Twins) Heavyweight. The only difference between the two classes is Formula Twins has no restrictions where BOTT requires the bike start as a streetbike. Usually same bikes are raced in both. |

I have to check the Buell contingency money - I think it is still paid in October - possibly not November. Shawn is racing the 8-hours in Daytona with Paul James and IF he can get a good flight out of Daytona on Saturday, he'll race Willow the NEXT DAY!!! He's an animal. |

4 races. That's my usual load. I'm trying to get as much seat time as possible - even if it means running in classes that I have NO CHANCE against guys like Higbee - it's still GOOD experience. I was running the larger 190/55 SC3 Pirelli (instead of the 180/55 SC2) and with the bigger tire and harder compounds really NEEDED the time in the saddle. Also had to get used to the slipper clutch. Everything was a bit uncertain but feeling better each month. I'll start racing NEXT season. Thanks for coming out! |
