i usually run 91 oct or 100LL in my bike... could i turn the cam sensor one way or the other to adv my timing for an extra hp or two? if so which way, its easy to get to since my cover went "missing" |

Maybe, maybe not.It may feel like it has more power but... While tuning the ignition for optimum performance can be beneficial, just advancing it is not going to guarantee you more power. If you are experiencing 'knock and ping' you are losing power. If going to a higher octane gas eliminates it, you are gaining power. High octane gas can certainly help when riding two up. But its a balancing act. Higher octane burns slower and burning slower means less power. Advancing the ignition offsets the slow burn. The idea is to use the lowest octane you can without experiencing pre ignition or detonation. If you truly tune your engine you will take air/fuel mixture and timing into consideration as the factory settings are a 'fits all' approach.
