So this is my homemade mutant muffler system. Sound. Well since i have no other after market muffler sound (in person) to compare it to. it sounds Raspy, and crisp. i like it. Power. the seat of the pants dyno...well lets just say i had to check the pants when i got off the bike. Before the mod i would hit the HP PEAK RPM and it would loft the front wheel and ride it out. AFTER it came STRAIGHT UP and i was SHAKING WHEN I GOT OFF!!!!! That tells me its a good improvement HAHAHA The Exhaust is not fully hung correctly, but i just wanted to share it. The Start. i really had to convince my self to do this. but i can always put it back. just weld it back together. As the exhaust is leaving this. It is going into this. these are some baffles taken out of some Big Gun 3 exhaust that were on my pops '05 lowrider. Then this is the outlet of the baffles. And then i wrapped the pipes with some header wrap. threw on some 2.5" 45 deg outlets and BAM.

Damn that looks like its loud! I would like to see some more detailed pictures and description of what you did please. So what is in that upper chamber area of the exhaust? I thought it was the catylitic converter. (Message edited by prophet_136 on September 17, 2009) |

Nothing is really in the first part, a couple baffling holes and a "collector" if you will. i will have some soon. i have to get out the good camera. maybe tomorrow. |

So is the first part sealed before where you made your cut? I imagine it would be or you would get all exhaust escaping (?). I like it, i wanted to do something similar but was to affraid to start cutting. A picture of the whole bike with the new exhaust please. Thanks, great work. |

I think the "collector" is where the catalyst goes on the euro models. R |

Prophet, Yes its sealed the only thing coming out of the first part of the muffler is the 2.5" tube you can see. The front piece that i used you could drop a marble into the "entrance" of the muffler and it would drop through the 2.5" piece. All i did was weld the piece i made to the front half of the muffler. it is a pretty much straight though setup. with some small baffles. and its pretty loud. but i like loud bike. as long as its not poppin off the rev limiter going trough a parking lot. lol stupid squids. lol |

Apparently the squid bikes around me have short gearing, they are all hitting bouncing off the redline and don't even appear to be moving. I bet that pipe sounds bad ass |
