Hi fella's, In doing a little research It seems the S3T gets 5mpg less than the X1. My X1 was getting right around 50mpg @ 78-80mph, straight highyway. The S3T I'm told around 45mpg. Is it a matter of weight difference, the wind resistance of the saddle bags, fairing etc., all of these, or something else. I'm really looking into finding a 2000 S3T if I don't rebuild the X1. As always, thanks guys, Gabe |

There might be some tiny issue on the "thirsty one" Something like a marginal temp sensor that makes it run a bit rich. if the timing is off by a little, something like that. Then again, if it seems to be running right, who really cares? |

My X1 gets 42ish in the city, 50s out on the slab. Hmmm maybe I need to check her over, it does seem very rich at idle (smell gas during warm up) but it does ruin well and wheelies very well in 1st! |

99 S3T- narrow bags, 4" over screen, race exhaust/ECM. Gets 40-45ish in town, and 55 on Hwy @ 70mph. I just moved to Germany, and the average speed of traffic on the Federal HWY (Autobahn) is about 100mph with faster segments here and there, I'll post mileage at higher sustained speeds when I get the data. |

40-42 in town and 50-ish down the highway, but I almost always take the back roads if I can. |
