Inexpensive and the reviews seem to have good things to say about them. I wonder how they would hold up/grip? http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/402/116/Motorcycle-A rticle/Shinko-Stealth-Tire-Review.aspx This review is on local roads... http://www.sportbikes.ws/showthread.php?t=106588 (Message edited by thepod on July 08, 2009) |

A guy on another forum here gave the 006 very good review and is currently testing the 009. i might consider the 009's ($171 a set shipped). So far have not found one bad review. I don't think I would personally buy the stealth just because I am in search of the 6000 mile tires for my bike. Getting tired of replacing tires ever 2700 - 3200 miles. Especially since 99.999% of my time is street riding and really not all that aggressive I have come to find out. I think it may be a toss up between Road Smarts and the 009's for me. |

OK I guess I am trying the 009's for this fall rain weather that is coming up. They were $179 shipped for a set of 120/190. Should have them in and mounted Saturday. |

So far I have about 250 miles. I took off at 6am for some twisty riding so I could get home by 10am. Ran a little late by 40 min. But had fun breaking in the tires. I rode up to timothy lake and back. Hitting 224, nfd 42 and ,nfd 57. The tires performed great. As far as sticking I can't tell a difference from my last set. They feel softer then pilot roads so it will be interesting how long they really hold up. I probably wouldn't try these on a track but for street riding so far so good. |

That's a pretty good deal. Where did you get them shipped from? How much to mount? |

Sorry Dave. But with 350 miles of commuting each week plus saturday rides its hard to justify $300 tires that last 3000 miles. I am on my 4th set of tires in one year. Like to get it down to 2 sets per year. Or at least cut the cost in half. |

Price for mount and ballance at Latus is "just a tad higher" as well. Question for you on tires, what's the race team doing with the end of season take off's? Can we look at a club price on them? |

Using race tires for the street may not work as well as sport tires. They are made to be used at controlled temps and pressures. On the street they will be hard until temp increases. They are good for a few heat cycles. Streets are made to cycle better and longer. But I am going to try a set of the Dunlops for track day. I don't expect them to last long. Also track tires have a profile for full lean and narrow center. The team is back in town and I'll ask avail/cost for ya. |

Track days is what I was looking to get them for I'm not a big Dunlop fan but track rubber may be better than my 016's if the price is right. |

Of course the Pirelli Corsa III's on the stock 1125 CR are the best way to go. |

I now have about 800 miles on the 009's and they feel solid for normal sub 100 mph rides. The rear feels good and at least as good as the pilot roads I had on my FZ1. No issues going over 219 today in the rain. Should be a good fall/winter tire. The front is a little wide which has an initial quick lean but then takes a little effort to keep going deeper into a turn. The rain groove in the middle of the front tire I think is also causing it to catch some air because at higher speeds the front seems to shimmy a little unless I lean over the front harder. My next front will most likely be the Pilot Power again. So far my favorite front tire.

Update. These will be off my bike before fully worn out. I do not recommend the 009's for any one that likes to ride spirited. They do not slip at all. Actually never had a single issue with them not sticking (rubber is actually really soft for a sport touring tire). Its everything else that sucks like feel and stability at higher speeds.
