I was wondering if anyone has dyno'd a stock 2009 XB12? I traded in my 1999 Cyclone for an 09 Uly and as soon as I get a few more miles on it I plan to get a baseline run. I'm pleased with the way it runs, not quite the low-end grunt of the M2 but it seems to pull harder from 3500 rpm to redline. Just wondering what to expect. |

Just did a dyno run this weekend on my bone stock 07 xb12r. 90.67 HP peak. The sniffer showed it was a little fat, so I don't think that was too bad. I'm planning on starting to do some mods on the bike and was planning on getting a baseline test soon. the funny thing is I was at a Ducati dealership getting parts for a bike i'm working on and they were having dyno pulls and supension workshop that weekend so I just stumbled across my chance for the baseline test. The bike has 22,000 miles on it, so I better get started on the mods before it needs a rebuild....LOL |

Wow, that's impressive. I've got an 07 12Scg with 20300 miles on it, I've got all the bells and whistles, Drummer, K&N, race ecm and mine dyno'ed out at 82.5 hp w/ 70.5 tq. We went as a group, and about 80hp was the average for stock 12s, power mods got you up 2 to 3 additional, depending on what you had. I'd say you got a special one there, I'd leave it stock! You might mess it up tinkering with it. |

Or maybe it was a Superflow, which reads 10-15% low compared to Dynajet. |

Mel: Well i'm no expert, and I know all Dynos are a little different, but that sounds a little low. They are supposed to be 103 at the crank. But on the flip side, if you look at the exhaust shootout from American Sport Bike, they show a stock baseline over 100 HP. That is as far above what I think is normal, as your results seem low. I just got my cable yesterday, and a K&N is on its way, So I just have to decide on a pipe, and I will have some same day, back to back numbers to share with everyone. |

The American Sport Bike shootout's dyno was reading about 5% high due to miscalibration if I recall correctly. |

IDK.... never had my bike on a Dyno before. Never seen anyone do it live either, but I do know that of the 9 bikes we took, 5 were 12s and we were all within 4 HP of each other even though we all have different mods/pipes.
Here's my chart. I did find out on the way home my tire pressure was low... somewhere around 22 psi. Don't know if that would have effected my numbers or not.

I ran mine on my dyno for a base line for future mod's. 2009 XB 12Ss with 215 miles on the bike, bone stock. Bike did 87.8 HP 69.9 torque. peak power was at 6900 rpm. this was done on my shops Dynojet 250. |

Mel,
The 22 psi would have hurt your results significantly, even more so if the operator was sitting on the bike when he ran the test. |
