Raining. So, what does one do in Salt Lake City with a rental car and a flooded salt flat w/o speed trials? Where is the closest trout fishing?

Karl(Maxnix), head to the Provo river, which would be not too far from SLC, one of the countries best trout rivers for some great fall action. Stop by Sportsmens warehouse for some current info as to what hatch is happening and access points. A lot of private land around here but good places abound, and have fun.

The Bonneville Salt flats do occasionally get wet, sometimes early in the spring, and in some years has not run all year. I think the last time was in the 80's though. Kept me from running my 350 cc 4 cylinder turbo Honda two years in a row.

Anyways have fun while your here and enjoy. Bob

Thanks, Bob. Plan B may not be needed if Wed., Thur. & Fri. become sunny and dry. I keep refreshing the weather service site and the USFRA site to see if Mother Nature is interfering with my spectating. Plan C is to come back next year, with a race bike and a fly rod.

Karl, USFRA is what I belonged to when I ran all three of my bikes back in the 80's and these guys and gals are tops. They run four meets a year when the weather cooperates starting in June I believe including Speedweek. Many SCTA and BNI people participate in USFRA also so you meet many really great racers. DO come back next year for sure. Bob

Bob, I proudly maintain USFRA membership! Years ago, Alan Sputhe said if you want to win records at Bonneville, run at the USFRA meets." This was long before BUB. H said Speedweek is the "big show" with so many people you don't get enough runs.

We will know at 10 a.m., your time, if the meet is on. Of course, my plane leaves at 9:35 my time. I'll see about taking a later flight. Rain predicted for tomorrow, drying out afternoon. Thanks for the info and encouragement.
