Just got back and it was a 372 trouble free round trip. Bike demos but no Buells. That is where I demo'd a Buell for the very first time and vowed I'd someday own one. Buell is becoming a no-show artist. First Sturgis and now KC. I demo'd the XR1200 and the Fatbob. The XR1200 is geared lower than the ULY at least in the 5th gear. Gear more like our 4th. Red-line was at 7,000 rpm. Fun bike but doesn't quite have the torquish rush of the Buell. Won't pull that front end up in 1st with just hard throttle like my ULY. It is heavier but not so's you notice. Great ride down and back. Stayed at the Stony Creek Inn in St. Joseph, MO on the way down. Can't say enough about that place. One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. Everything is just 1st class. Super clean. The only thing that was off putting was that they were tuned in to Faux News in the lobby and in the breakfast room. Third floor rooms had vaulted ceilings. Great shower. We got a king sized bed and the room cost 82 bucks. Every thing is in a Rustic Lodge theme and not cheap at all. If you get a chance to stay at a Stony Creek you will be impressed. http://www.stoneycreekinn.com/ No, I don't have anything to do with them but just map.google.com hotels in St. Joseph MO and they had the most stars next to their google listing. I usually depress myself by looking and staying in the cheapest but not this time and not anymore. |

I usually depress myself by looking and staying in the cheapest but not this time and not anymore. I bet the cheapest would have been tuned into the Communist News Network in the lobby and in the breakfast room... |

The only thing that was off putting was that they were tuned in to Faux News in the lobby and in the breakfast room. hey! mistakes happen! somebody just forgot to change channels after a sporting event! The bigger mistake was Buell not having their demo fleet there to try and win-over Harley riders that might want a sport bike. Buells don't sell with-out a test ride! Any dealer that has the demo fleet at their dealership will pick-up more sales with one exception, a dealer that has a couple of floor demo models which most dealers don't have. |
