Ferris laughs at Seattle’s rain --- Hurumph I say! Seattle: "The average annual rain fall is 34.3 inches, with 100 rain free days per year, and an average of 49 percent sunshine during the daylight hours." To compare: In the South: New Orleans, LA = 65.2 inches per year Knoxville, TN = 60.3 Miami & Tampa Bay, FL = 47.0 Atlanta, GA = 49.8 Houston, TX = 48.1 Dallas / Ft. Worth, TX = 35.0 Northeast: Philadelphia, PA = 44.9 inches per year NYC = 41.5 Boston, MA = 43.0 Washington D.C. = 39.0 Midwest: Kansas City, MO = 39.2 inches per year Chicago, IL = 37.9 St Louis, MO = 34.8 Detroit, MI = 32.4 Milwaukee, WI = 29.1 Out west: San Francisco, CA = 19.0 inches per year Sacramento, CA = 17.4 Salt Lake City, UT = 15.6 Los Angeles, CA = 12.7 El Paso, TX = 8.6 Phoenix, AZ = 7.8 The southwest is pretty dry it seems. Maybe that’s why they manage to set themselves on fire every summer. All things considered, I’ll take the extra 20 inches of rain any time. |

" Yikes, being a glass half empty guy like I am, that means it rains 265 days of the year but with only 34" of rain annually (.12"/day), that means it's just that constant yucky flourescent drizzle. Blech. In contrast, I've had 31.2" of rain here at my house so far, however that's since October which is when the meteorological folks begin the water year. So in Portland, we just get dumped on hard for a while, then it clears up. |

Cody will be posting his own messages to you all soon. You might need to get out your phonics dictionary because sometimes his words are phonetically spelled! He has motorcycles running through his vanes so what he posts will be relevant to this page, see his cute little profile (I'm his Mom so of course he is cute, right? right!) Kimberlie |

Yeh Debbie, you know how mondays suck. My monday starts and just won't quit. Untill thursday! I start monday morn, at 9 am, and get off thursday at 6 pm. I spend thursday out on McNeil Island at the state prison x-raying criminals, and perverts from the sexual predator unit. Then just one little 8 to 10 hr. shift and I'm off till monday! Talk about the life of Riley! At least I have weekends off? Right?.................................................opps I fell asleep. 'nite nite Galen |

It's been awhile since reading the web. Ferris so sorry about your sis. My prayers are with you and yours. Code Red gets a user name before me. Bob and Deb are remodeling the upstairs. Cumputer is under dust cloth. No walls, no ceiling, no nothing but wood and studs. Please rain and then we can go to canada too. Bob got new tires on the sprint last night. The bikes are even under dust catchers too. Life sucks to be a home owner. Deb |
