I put a set of -7 degree Crossroads clip-ons on my bike today, and they need to go. I've had great success in the past with the 0 degree bars on my last bike and thought the down angle would be nice. I was wrong (for me). A bit wider than I can comfortably handle.

So aside from going back to a set of 0 degree bars (looking for a trade?), what do you recommend in a bar? I like the stock configuration except for the height and finish. I'd prefer something about 1-2" lower with the same pullback and width in anything but chrome/ss. What have you used and liked (or hated)? Your help is appreciated!

I have Hagen 7 Low rise bars. I love them! they are the same width as stock and about 2in lower. maybe more i'll have to check the specs again and get back to you. I know i have to use a 1in riser now because the clutch cable hits the top of the fork adjuster and twists the cable in a way i dont like. easy fix tho.

I dont know how to post pics on here.

Good looking bar!

I am running the clubman bars off the CR myself... Just need a 1" adaptor like you would for running a fat bar style motocross bar...

Takes some work to make it all fit together (lots of info on BadWeb) but its my dream setup. Upright enough to be comfortable but still very leaned over, bars are wide enough for slower roads but still racey enough to allow me to hang off comfortably etc...

I went to the firebolt setup, definitely more comfortable. This is the only pic I have right now.

I used a flat "drag bar" from a local motorcycle shop. Bar was $30. I had to use a 1" riser to clear the top of the forks. I am VERY happy with this riding position... And it gets lots of compliments when people see the lower bars.

Jraice

how do you like them? I still haven't gotten my suspension to work in concert with mine.

any help would be appreciated.

if I cant get these to handle in a respectable manner I'm going back to my chrome clubmans.

initial turn in feels VERY unstable as well as long high speed corners (highway to highway junction ramps)

Nothing like a pair of Tomaselli adjustable Clubmans bars if you ask me.

*LSL offsetmatch Clipons...
*The Adjusters where for a ducati but they are the same size..
*The front housing is spaced out an inch from top triple.. Same sweep as a firebolt..

If you want more pictures PM me and I'll link you to a gallery..

Shortened Protaper Carmichael bends here, love 'em. Lower, less pullback, and slightly wider. Really makes counter-steering/leaning much easier, with the stockers I was kinda fighting the bars.

After this pic, I rotated them down a little more to get the grips level, feels really good, last weekends 525+ mile round trip was awesome.

I really liked my Carmichaels (full length and fatbar with the 1" riser/adaptor)...

But I prefer the clubmans as they are more stable (less sensitive to input) and make aggressive body positioning much easier.

Might not be as comfortable but I have no problem doing a REALLY long day on them.

Thanks for all the input, everyone. I poured over all the bars available at Cycle Gear last night and picked up a set of Protaper seven eighths. They have the cross bar like the Carmichaels shown above, but are taller. Very close in width to stock, and about the same height. Why did I go with these? Well, the more I thought about it, the more I realized I didn't mind the height. I really didn't like the pull back, and was looking for something to get more weight on the front. I think these will do the trick, but I have yet to ride the bike.

I'll take a picture tomorrow and post an update on how they feel. I might still want to go lower, but we'll see....
