I do recall a lot of testing went into that setup, and it works great from what I have heard. |

I think that it had a longer velocity stack... |

The Hillbilly set up has an aluminum stack that the filter clamps to. I think they were designed for the snorkel through the frame years. I bought one and made it work on an '06 but it was a complete PITA to get to work on the '06. Now maybe they made ones specific to the later bikes that mounts differently. Couldn't say. Mine sounded wicked ( the thing would just roar at WOT ) but I tend to think the stock set up works best on my bike. I only have a race ECM, so the results might be much better with specific mapping. The sport stack that I mentioned from Jet ( a sponsor ) looks like it works much the same as the FAST. |

I guess I was in the Harley part of their site. I found it. It looks like it would come very close to the top off the airbox. I would still rather the FAST as it has the heat shield also. http://www.jetroadracing.com/racing_pages/pop_ups/ hi-velocity_sportstack.html |

So, the Sportstack doesn't work on the 12? It is only listed for the 9. DOOM |

Yeah that seems like the open airbox. I found a place in Germany that actually has the exhaust actuator molded into the top of it. I'll end up going with that if I can't find the FAST. I can search for the link if anyone is interested. |

I am betting you will need the XB9 airbox because of its higher peak over the air filter |

the FAST system was very popular in Italy few years ago. it's for pre '05 models, but then they proved that it was pretty much a big lie. it wasn't gonna get that HP gain that promised. so more and more people started to get rid of it and right now none of my friends have that anymore installed on their bikes. my suggestion: don't waste your money... |

thanks for the info. I guess I'll go with the open airbox and a pipercorss filter now. I'll probably get some heat reflective tape and cover the airbox base too. |

forget the heat reflective tape. look up odie of special ops in the sponsor section. I just installed two of his heat barriers on my bike, one for the air box and the other for my butt. they are great Ps I also have the open airbox kit on my bike and it is awesome too. Yeah I got the picture and info from hillbillys website. I can see that the stock intake with the openair mod would be just as effective. I just like the whole integrated heat shield look. It's cleaner. The stock setup has a much larger filter area though. |
