i assume it can't spin around the bolt because it's fastened on the lower bolts of the brackets.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mCiVXigrjjQ |

You are probably correct. There are 2 things he doesn't need to worry about. |

Andros - Just a side note. As long as the aluminum is at least 6061-T6 (7075-T6 preferable), the aluminum is fine for the material. As for what Neil is talking about, the "tear out", or more properly known as "edge distance"...is a very good thought. Your "minimum" edge distance should be the diameter of the fastener you are using. In all reality, it is less than that, but for what you are doing... If you are using a .250" fastener, the edge distance should be .25"...and so on. As for the material thickness, I'd say, .250" would be the minimum. Your "Z" shaped part... If you can get some thicker material and hack saw/file it out of one piece, or two at worst, that would be much safer in keeping your butt of the pavement...! The less quantity of parts the better. Also, sharp interior corners are a no-no. Any inside corners you have should be finished off with a round file so there are no sharp edges or corners. Sharp corners will help in the creation of cracks in the future. Keep it up, looks good. Mike |

Thanx guys. Its just in the prototype state right now so its very rough. Everything is very tight under the seat so the material cant be much thicker on the top part of the subframes. I will have a welder make up perfect brackets in steel. Just to be on the safe side. Dont wanna crash my masterpiece.... Or die just yet. Now the undertray is a challenge. Long live fiberglass. |

The hardest part is not the subframe, its fitting all the electrics under the s seat. So little space in there. Benn messing around for the last week with this but. finally cracked the problem last night!!!! |

Here is the arrangement under the seat. The voltage regulator is mounted on the left subframe in front of the seat outside the undertray..

Is left (picture side) seat lock free from battery profile in order to close the seat easily? It seem like battery obstacle is too high and positive and negative connector could be in contact with the seat. What a great work, mine will be more difficult, under the seat I've radiators expansion bowl too... Salut |

It clears perfect. no issues there. The battery must have the terminals in the middle since they will rub the edge of the seat if they are facing the other side. What's the radiator expansion bowls Ziomeme? |

In the "States" we call this a blivit (10# (5kg) of Sh!t in a 5# (2.5 kg) bag). Good job, but you still have a little ways to go. I spent 5 years in automotive trying to package components under the hood. It can be a challenge to say the least. Neil S. |

In FreeSpirit pods kit, there is an alternative radiator water expansion bowls (I'm not sure this is the real technical name) to eliminate bowl originally on right pod and put it under the seat and that means another part to placed in the smaller XB tail... Salut |

So far so good! Parts have been sent off to sandblasting, paint and powdercoat. As soon as i receive them i will reassemble the bike and take some new shots. I will also need a brand new seat.

Congrats, you have done a GREAT job! You have something to be proud of for sure. I love the arrows and "X's" for direction and what to cut out. I do the same to remind me. |

I really don't know why the CR didn't come with low pegs and that seat stock. Should give EB something to think about. |

Its done! Bam! All i need now is a new seat and a good wash down to get my greasy fingers off the machine. And there is a quarter inch gap between the seat and the tail light assy but i will fix that with a bit of adjusting.
