Here ya go: If you are going to do, or have done, the 12.5k mile service, the following spares would be nice when doing the valve clearance check: Valve cover gasket kit: RA001.1AM Muffler inlet gasket: SO185.1AMC Sparkplug: 2305 or CR9EKB It's not Iridium. An air filter is also good. The headers don't need to be pulled so you don't need the gaskets. Neil S |

Is the valve cover gasket a paper gasket, or is it more like a rubber seal like most other bikes? On my previous bikes (Suzuki, Honda, Yamaha) the valve covers used rubber seals that could be re-used over and over. ac |

No need to pull the headers. If you're careful you can re-use the mid-pipe gaskets, they are tough and thick. Valve cover gaskets are thick, soft silicone rubber - re-use also. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/391454.html?1221306863 This gives you the full thread, clik the other archives up top to see the whole deal. It was fun, will be doing it again soon, at 21.6 now. Midway thru the second archive I list all the parts I used. Have fun, be brave!! Z |
