Anyone care to venture a guess as to what the minimum amount of distance is between the top of the tire and the bottom of the plastic under tail? i.e. if the suspension compressed to is plausible maximum (w/o crashing) while under standard suspension settings, how much room would be between the tire and the plastic under tail? I could ballpark it using rider sag and suspension settings but there so many of you that take a much keener interest in suspension than I have as of late on my new R. ~C |

Chris: A rough estimate would be to take out all your rear preload. Get yourself a ball of modeling clay and stick it on your tire. Get a rough measurement on it's height and...... pounce down on the seat. Measure the new height of the clay and that will give you an estimate. I don't know if the r or cr are set up to coil bind or bottom the tire on the "inner fender". Last summer going to Home Coming from the host hotel, I had my Wife on the back of my r and did not bottom under normal riding. I did not increase the pre-load. I am no light weight at 240 and my Wife is er, ahh, a Sweetheart and a little beyond her bikini days ;+} Later Neil S. |
