Ferris, I read your note this morning. I've spent the rest of the day thinking of something comforting to say to you and your family. Nothing I can come up with even comes close to sounding right. I have four sisters, each special in their own way. They are a part of me as much as I am to them. I cannot imagine getting a call such as you received this morning. Everything else in my world would collapse into insignifiance. Please find some measure of strength in knowing you have MANY friends, both known and unknown sharing your pain. Ferris, Although we have not spoken in a while... I know what it is like to feel the emptiness of a great soul taking the journey to the next level of their existence. Just remember this... 'The dead are not under the earth... they are in the rustling trees'. I think I will go out by the lake and take some tobacco and have a little talk with the Great Spirit tonight. You can hear the wind blow through the pine trees, the birch and the ash. It is one of the most soothing sounds I know. You can smell spring just around the corner. If you listen with all of your heart you can feel the presence of those people who have gone before us... they know you are there and always will be there for them. Jerry, I dont know of any thing to say that would help now, but I feel the need to say something. While I have never lost a sibling, I did loose a very close friend a few years ago. We found him shot to death in his shop. The only comfort I found later, was in the fact that I was instrumental in putting the prick who shot him in prison for some years. It seems the longer we are on this earth, the more we should expect the unexpected. Life is that way it seems to me. My life is completely different now, than from just a few years ago, and all from things I never saw coming my way. Yours too, has now made a change. thank you all so much for your words of love and support. i've read and re-read every post, drawing strength and resolve. please know that you've touched my heart. i am compiling your posts and will print and take them with me to my sister's services. i know that my Mom and family will appreciate and cherish your kind words and sentiments as much as i. the autopsy was this afternoon, in conjunction with the detective's investigation, and when i'm done here i'll be calling my Mom to hear the results. i'll post more when i know more. thank you all so very much. Jerry, I personally know what you are going through right now. I lost my brother to a gunshot years ago and it still effects me and my opinion of guns. I still have two more brothers, and my dear sister. My condolences and thoughts are with you and your family my friend. As I do every year, at the start or end of the riding season, I'll take a ride and she will be in my thoughts. For in our thoughts are where we remember. A roadside marker or a headstone on a grave are set in one place, but our thoughts and our hearts are with us everywhere. On one ride this year put down the passenger pegs, she'll be there. | ||
