Just wanted to let you guys know that last night the xb lightning tail went on my cr. It wasny easy and there is still some way to go in getting all the electronics to fit under the seat and trimming the undertray to fit.

Bottom holes for the subframe mounts up perfectly but both left and right top parts of the subframe needs brackets in order for the seat to mount properly afterwards. Also the two latches under the seat needes to be moved two mill forward.

I will post pictures in a few days when im back in the shop.

Will have some ppictures ready as soon as i disassemble it all again before i send it to paint. First i need to tackle fitting all the electric under the seat. Not easy with 2 huge fuse boxes and a large silver box i have no idea of what is.

Large silver box mounted to the tail section support? Probably the voltage regulator. BTW it relies on contact with the aluminum tubing to get rid of heat from excess charging.

Yep should be fun mounting all the goodies.

The silverbox is the voltage regulator. Can i mount it on inside of the subframe OUTSIDE the undertray next to the shock but under the seat.

Is it waterproof??

The Battery tray is still in progress. It still needs brackets for the fuse boxes.

The right side brackets need trimming to look good.

The left side bracket needs a hole and a bolt next to the top mounting hole to support the bracket with two bolts.

The undertray is a bitch and needs to be cut open in order to have room for the shock. I'm ordering a carbon version and will lay fiber glass on it to prevent water from splashing in.

Andros:

Just from 1st look at your brackets they look pretty good for prototyping. You may want to look at some stress calculation on some of the joints and hole to edge of part tear-out issues. The left hand multipart part bracket gives me even more concern.

Even if you are a lightweight individual, some of the loads on that tail section are pretty hefty. If you start throwing a few bumps and a passenger, you may have some longer term reliabity issues. Just my $0.02 and YRMV but, it looks a little marginal IMHO.

Andros:
You are headed the right direction. Just an observation or two. Take a look at the picts below that I marked up:

Just a few things to consider before you go to steel.
