yea guys, lower tubes in clamps, maybe a bit below, (2-4mm). try a set of springs at 9.75 to 1.00 rating to improve trail and corner exiting. maybe for track use ohlins shock.

If thats a 1125r in the pic it looks like the clamp is raised a lot higher than 2-4mm. It looks like damn near an inch,, or am I lost?

This thread was very interesting to me because the 1125R was the "heaviest" bike I had ever experienced. As an earlier writer mentioned it has a much heavier feel than a SV650. I can also add to the list a Buell XB12, XB9, Ducati Monster, Yamaha FZ1, CBR600 and Yamaha FJ1200. I first adjusted the suspension according to the manual, page 97, Front pre-load 7, Compression 1.5, Rebound 1.5, Rear Pre-load 5 Compression 16 and Rebound 1. This was OK but required constant work and felt heavy. I then modified the adjustment according to the recommendations on page 88 for Enhanced Steering Quickness by increasing rear pre-load by 1 to 6 and reduced front pre-load by 1 to 6. This was better but the front end felt like it wanted to turn in too soon at lower speeds so I returned to 7. As a final adjustment I took the recommendation of several thread writers and moved the forks to the top on the triple tree. WOW what a difference. The steering is still slightly heavier than the other bikes but, it stays where I put it and requires very little effort. And when I get off the seat slightly and move over and down into the slot just behind the tank with my legs and torso it is on a rail on turns. I must say these adjustments made the bike one of the best I have driven.
