It's just a few days away, and I'm on pins and needles with the prospect of Danny Eslick and RMR winning the DSB Championship. I have to work all weekend, so my son will "watch" the live timing of the races and call in race reports to me at work. I can hardly wait to read all the results, and see all the great pictures folks like EBear take of the season finale, so all you folks feel free to post up anything related to NJMP here. Buell racers Shawn Higbee, Mike Barnes, Paul James, Taylor Knapp, Danny Eslick, and all the rest deserve a standing ovation for giving us "American Iron" fans something to cheer about! GO BUELL RACING!!! (Message edited by fuzzz on September 01, 2009) |

"Buell racers Shawn Higbee, Mike Barnes, Paul James, Taylor Knapp, Danny Eslick" Don't forget the new kid on the block riding a 1125RR in Superbike, Cory West. I was Cory's sponsor in his club racing days and his early days in the AMA riding in the 250 class. I also sponsored his dad back in the day and have watched Cory grow up from a baby into a fine young man. He tested on the 1125RR last week in Chicago at the Autobon track and he told me it when very well and he was below the track record. I am sure he will put in a fine showing on the Buell. I am also well aquainted with Danny from the days that he and Cory raced dirt track together as kids. Cory's number 1 fan, Hank |

Well this thread is a let down. I thought it was started by someone from the future who was gonna tell us who won 4 days from now. |

BadLionsFan, I've seen the future, but I'm not telling, I wouldn't want to spoil things, LOL! Hank, No disrespect to anyone I didn't mention, just an early morning post. I am curious how Cory will do, and I am curious if Buell will share any of the "Good" parts with folks like Shawn & Paul, they've certainly shown their loyalty to the brand. Hey Ebear, I'll be there right by you. I work at H-D/Buell of Ocean County and I got hooked with some VIP access to the entire track. I was told i'll be in the media center, in the pits, and allowed access into the main tower to get a view of everything. I am more than pumped. I cannot wait. Unfortunatley I won't be there tomorrow (friday) but i will attend both saturday and sunday. Fingers crossed for an erik buell photo opp. See you there man. I'll most like be wearing my Icon vest with a big pegasus logo on the bottom of the backside. Kyle (Message edited by njbuellguy on September 03, 2009) |

After 1st practice, West is in 6th and Knapp is in 9th. West is about 1 second off the pace of Hayes and Mladin . . . but so is just about everybody else. Positions 3-10 are only separated by about 0.6 seconds. Very impressive start for West after not racing any AMA races this year and never riding a Buell before. And Knapp seems just as fast on the Buell as he was on his Suzuki. The possiblity of two Buells in Superbike Superpole is very exciting! Is it possible that a bike with fuel in the frame and ZTL brak actually can be competitive? |

Can't remember the last time I was so excited about road racing with the exception of the IOM. Say what you will, but DMG made it interesting this year. To think, Buell is in Super Bike. The same Buell that had its founder singing at a local dragstrip, in his own band, just last week. Cool company. |

This looks to be it for the "A" group. But if both races this weekend end up like this, will Josh Herrin or Danny Eslick take the DSB championship?
It is unlikely, but there are still some contenders in "B" group that could knock Taylor Knapp off of the bubble for superpole. Like Robertino Pietri and Michael Barnes for instance. |
