Hello, I would like for the owner of an 1125CR High bar handlebar to provide some specs for me before I purchase them. My local dealer has been totally useless, I then called HD support and after an hour and five different people, no one there could tell me what they are either??? And that is looking at the drawing for them?? Anyway if someone could please provide the following info, it would be extremely helpful to my project! Width: Height: Clamp width area: Rise: Sweep: I am hoping that these bars will be not as wide as dirt bike "fat" bars which are usually much wider in the clamp area, which keeps you from trimming them much smaller as you then do not have any room to mount the controls. Plus these are less expensive than most of the "fat" bars for dirt bikes. Again, if anyone can provide this info, that would be awesome! Thanks! |

There seem to be 2 camps on the clubman/high bar issue. I for one got an 09 CR and ordered the bars the same day. Didn't care for the riding position with the clubman bars at all. Others prefer the hunched over, lumbar crunching, tricep quivering position, for some masochistic reason. But that's O.K.! If you have ever sat on an R, that's a good approximation of the clubmans. If you have ever sat on a Lightning XB, that's a good approximation of the high bars. Rob (Message edited by carbonbigfoot on September 02, 2009) |

It is nice they put the clubman style bars on the bike to make it easy to swap bars (rather than a clip on/part of the top triple clamp type design) But it would seem that the clubman style is not as popular as the "high" bars considering they have now for 2010 switched what the bike comes with and which one is the "option" |

They came pre-installed by the dealer, it was a $600 option including the labor. It ruins the sport bike experience, and it is less comfortable to ride. If you ride leaning back, the wind pushes against you like a kite increasing strain on my injured shoulder. I end up riding crouched over so much that my head is in between the mirrors. I never experienced any discomfort on the clubman bikes. The bars are a total failure in my opinion, and once I get some extra funds I will be putting the clubmans back on. The only way I could justify the upright bars would be if it came with a 24" windshield, 4" drop pegs, and 3 hard bags. |

Would you be interested in selling your old "high bars" Froggy? They are $82 new, maybe we can work out a mutual agreement? That is of course if I know what the dimensions are and if they will work for my intended use. |

Others prefer the hunched over, lumbar crunching, tricep quivering position, for some masochistic reason<- Friggin' hilarious, Carbon! Vwsandman: have you put any miles on the bike with the clubmans yet? If not, my suggestion (not that you're asking for it)would be to put a few hundred miles on it before you decide to invest in the high bars. When I bought my CR, I was hell bent on getting the high bars, but after getting use to the clubman bars, there's no way I'm switching to the high bars. |

The bars would be going on my 2002 Yamaha FZ1...yeah yeah I know..NOT a Buell....but I like the fat bars...I have them on my 08 Yamaha WR250R..I have Rizoma thick wall aluminum bars on my FZ1 now...but I have all the risers and adapters to use a set of fat bars on my FZ1..don't get me wrong, in a perfect world I could see having a 1125CR and make a sport tourer/track bike out of it...because that is what my FZ1 does now...I have always loved the idea of a sporting V-twin, and a long time ago took part in a test of the then not launched Firebolt...when asked what I thought, I said, I love the bike, hate the motor...and this has been my problem with Buell till now...I think they are very close to the perfect package that I have been looking for in a bike. For now the FZ1 is paid for and some day I will get something else. Thanks again with the help on this guys, great forum, reminds me of the FZ1OA.... |

I forgot to measure it last night! Sorry! About selling the bars, I will let you know. It is not just the bars that need changing, so I will probably swap with someone that has the culbmans. |

I'm 6'5" tall, so clubmans or not....I'm a big sail. The upright bars don't cause me any issues at all. I've had the bike up to triple digit speeds, and cruised in the low 90's and didn't have any shoulder strain or other ill effects other than the obvious wind blast, which is going to happen to me on any bike short of a Goldwing. I rode an 1125R, and the riding position for the track is great, but having to crank my neck way back to see ahead is what becomes uncomfortable for me after long rides. I have long arms, so reaching lower bars is never a problem, but my neck gets sore being all hunched over. I've put on Uly pegs and a taller seat, so the riding position my my CR is very civil. I ended up putting lower bars on my Ulysses, so I understand the desire for some to be leaned further forward. The Uly was too upright for me, and put too much weight on my rear end. I like to be "balanced" between the bars and the seat as much as possible so the load is spread out as evenly as possible. |

They are approx 28.5" wide measuring to the widest part of the edge of the grips. They are also about 3.5" tall. The clamp is about 5" wide on the part near the airbox, and about 5.5" near the gauge cluster. I am not sure how to measure the other things you were looking for. |

Awesome Froggy! Thanks very, very much! That makes them: Width 723mm Height: 88.9mm Clamp area width: 139.7mm This puts them pretty much in the same league as my current 7/8" Rizoma aluminum bars but at almost half the cost of the Rizoma Fat bars! in fact I just did a quick compare on my handlebar spreadsheet and other than the sweep (measured form the center plane to the outside tip of the bars, the amount the bars come back toward the rider) which is not listed for the Rizoma bars, they seem pretty much identical. and that is very cool, as I like the bend on my 7/8' Rizomas but want the Fat 1 1/8" bars like the 1125CR "High bar" FYI you guys could try different dirt bike bars as well, but keep in mind most dirt bike bars will be wide in the center, most have the clamp width area at any where from 172mm to 180mm or greater compared to the 140 that these bars are, that seems to be the biggest difference between a street Oversize aluminum bar and a dirt Oversize bar. Hope this info helps others out as well. Big thanks again to Froggy for taking the time to get these measurements when even the factory could not/would not supply them to me. |
