Sorry, I’ll do my best to make this my last luggage thread for a while. I need these things in luggage: 1. Lots of space 2. Tough 3. non-leak is a must 4. ease of removal and install 5. Must allow for as must space as passenger as Buell bags. 6. Room for two full face helmets. 7. Be able to lock cases to bike. The stock bags would work, but the toughness part seems to be an issue, Caribou’s and Touratech’s are nice except, the helmet issue is a problem since there is no rear case option. Based on my very limited time looking and various setups, seems the Outdoorsman and Journey bags are the best choice once you consider the helmet issue. |

Check out F-Skinner's Uly in pics from his trip to Sturgis: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/681 7/484710.html?1249796878 Looks like original type HB bags with Outdoorsman top case. Best of both worlds. |

Also a good story in that thread, BTW. Sorry for the misspelling, F_skinner. |

Will the H&P Gobi bags fit on the factory brackets? Those may be an option. |

Gobi's will fit, but right is left and left is right to align the latching mechanisms. No room for a helmet. Cheaper option to the Gobi's is the Pelican 1440's and a locking mechanism can be made, but it won't be quick release. Passenger leg room will also be an issue with the Pelicans |

Here are a few photos with the gobi bags: These will not hold 2 full face helmets. I just barely fit one full face in the top bag. Mike Long Island, NY 09 XB12X Red/Black 06 VRSCR Blue/Silver |

You'll have a tough time doing any better than the Outdoorsman. |

Missin44: Here are the LxWxH for both Outdoorsman and Journey side bags (in inches). Outdoorsman: 19.3 x 8.66 x 11.4 Journey: 19.69 x 11.8 x 11.41 The width is the real difference between the two sets of bags, giving the Journeys a capacity of 2651 cui vs 1905 cui for the Outdoorsmans. Sorry, I don't have dimensions handy for the top cases. |
