I have a 1997 M2 Cyclone with 10K miles. I know, I don't ride enough. Is there a mileage/time limit that the rubber front and side isolators will last, like the 4 years for tires? Thanks. |

No. If they fail, then replace them. |

Without sounding dumb, besides them ripping/separating, is there anything else to look for? I've developed a buzzing/vibration in the right side handlebar <3K rpm and have seen maybe it's the front motor mount. I'm thinking of winter downtime and doing things all at once if needed. thanks. |

No that's it. Check all your exhaust tract connections and bracketry for good tightness. |

Thanks Blake. I've also looked at some other threads and they talk about exhaust/vibration issues connecting. |

I've seen both myself. The isolators tearing didn't affect the vibs so much unless I was cornering. I could feel the metal to metal transmit the vibes as they were much more pronounced when that happened. With the exhaust tract issues, it was a constant vibe in the pegs and/or handlebars. |

i have a vibration that some have said is the rear isolator failing,it only occurs two up at mid-revs(4000 ish)through the right foot peg when travelling over the joints on smooth tarmac, this is when the suspension briefly unloads,if i move up a gear it stops till i have reached the mid revs again, any ideas???the isolators on my 99 M2 have never been out/replaced,look ok with just 10000mls on the bike, tightening the belt reduces the vibration but this is not what is good for the wheel bearings or main gear bearing,it feels like the belt momentarily rubs something, the carbon fiber hugger vibrates at 4000 revs is this transmitted through to the rh peg when the suspension unloads and not the isolator though why only do it two up if it is????????? |
