Seems it was Buell/HD night at the local Speedway where if you show up on a Buell or Harley you can get out on the track for a Parade lap...Or Race in their little series....All for FREE!...  Yeah....Scary , I know..........  Shawn and Marianne came to check it out....  But FIRST the important part!..Speedway Snacks..  And Marianne demolishes the Cotton Candy! (With Nick , our friend and Young Ben Bostrum lookalike!)  Jerry Johnson testing his newly Hand Cut rubber  The action was fast paced...  Well....except Me , trying to keep it upright in the dirt.  This guy had his eye on Kathleen... (taking the pics....she shot most of these...good eye Pineapple!!)  So , is this a smart thing taking those street bikes on the dirt with Maniacal Harley Riders??  Nick.......aka Ben.....  Wait a minute Marianne.....YOU think Buell riders aren't???????????  Gettin' ready to pitch her into turn 1...  Even the little guys were having fun and got MOST of the CHEERS!!!!  I believe the girls were having FUN TOO..!!  With Jerry taking a FIRST PLACE in the final heat... I has there, great racing. In the main, Hicks,Schwarts,and a third rider go down in the first turn.Hicks finally gets up with a dislocated left shoulder, he walks to the edge of the track, swings his arm over and braces his body against the crash wall, while someone pulls his arm back into its socket.Remounts his bike and makes the restart of the main.What an ANIMAL.  | ||

What a night Kathlene, Ebear, Shawn, Marianne, Nick, Wolf & Matt all came out to see H-D/Buell night sponsored by Orange County H-D/Buell. Kathlene let's me race her 98S1 WL with Tires I cut myself for these events. My best night racing at this event. This is my 6th time racing here and was great company with my Buell friends. Won the 1st heat race and 2nd in the 2nd heat. Won the 1st main event and took 3 or 4 in the other one. Hope even more folks can make it next year. The races only for Harleys & Buells are in May and Aug. Thanks to Kathlene & Ebear for the great Pix. Marianne told me she has my NASTY tank slapper on video!!! Buell on, Jerry Johnson | ||

Nice to see "Harley" night doing so well. The years I went it wasnt that well attended and Buells didnt count for free entry  Now I'm not so sure the Blast will get you in free either But I've got a back-up  Great pics! | ||

  Jerry's got his game face going....  And lookin' for a way around the Bagger.  Me too....  Looks like Nik has already made it...   Yahooooo!  No , it's not me......   These Kids are seriously good!   Sorry Court....Not to make too much fun of a guy thats obviously hurting , but as he was coming up the steps he sloshed one of two beers he had,slipped in the slosh , went down without letting go and cracked his head on a step.He actually didn't spill one of them and downed it as he wiped off the blood. poor guy must have had quite a headache the next day! Pretty much any picture with me riding can also be captioned, "Ahhh, don't crash! stay away from the wall!! Oh noes, where'd my traction go!" It was a lot of fun, and I'd love to do it again, but preferably on a bike that isn't my primary transportation appliance. | ||

Hey Jerry Johnson. Nice to see you stop by. Nice photos Kathlene! Court, I think you nailed it, no matter Eric's creative caption revisions. "He sloshed his beer" -->> Eric gave the poor unsuspecting man a shove. Eric had the whole thing planned well in advance I'm sure. It's good to see that an up and coming starving privateer Buell road racer can at least get a meal at the dirt track.  It's not raw eggs in a glass, but it'll have to do, at least until he podiums at next year's Daytona 200. Anyone note the irony of the winning "Matson's Radiators Inc." entry riding an air-cooled motorcycle? The matson radiators Inc . builds the bike for Mike to race and he has the biggest mullet you will ever see and he can ride at 50 years old. | ||

Nik, to the Hall of Shame with you, blasphemer, for referring to your Buell as a "transportation appliance"! It transports me to the track, around the track, home from the track, to work, home again, to the mountains, rinse, wash repeat for about 3k miles a month, and it excels in that far better than any other vehicle has before. | ||

Court, Anyone who's ever enjoyed the hospitality of the Love Shack at Laguna Seca also owes Jerry a collection of favors. I know I do. There is not a better place to watch the racing than from the back deck of the shack while amongst such nice folks. Fuzz, He said "appliance" ARRRRGGGHHHHH! And he's arguing about it!
