I just noticed a speed-dependent clacking sound coming from the front wheel when the brake is applied. The sound slows and stops as I roll to a stop. It sounds like something hitting as it goes through the caliper but the rotor looks good and I don't see anything out of the ordinary. It doesn't pulse or seem to affect braking and I don't hear anything or detect anything amiss when I roll forward on the garage floor with the brake lightly applied. What am I likely looking at? Is this a dangerous condition? Your help would be greatly appreciated! |

Have you checked for loose hardware on the front wheel? Does the rotor have any crack? Sounds like you have one or two bolt loose. |

how loud is the clacking noise? a drilled/slotted rotor causes the pads to make a noise every time they come across a hole/slot. I notice it on my xb12r. it isn't very loud, but it can be heard while driving about <25mph. |

Bit of a long shot but have you thought about your wheel bearings? |
