Hello. My 2001 Blast sometimes starts ok, sometimes just clicks. Last time it just clicked, I noticed after only a few tries that the clutch cable was very hot. (It may get hot every time, I just hadn't noticed before.) What's up with that? Is the starter going bad? Any ideas/guidance appreciated. Matt |

You have a loose, broken or disconnected ground. The clutch cable is acting as a ground wire thats why its getting hot! Look at the ground strap at the front of the engine where the top engine mount is. Its a bare braided steel ground strap near where the horn mounts. |

Precisely right, Erik. This morning I have a running bike and a cold clutch cable (the ground strap was in good shape, just loose)! Thanks so much for your help. Matt. |
