Just curious. I just picked up a set for my motor build plans (still a ways a way). I also have XB heads and cylinders, just waiting for a deal on pistons. Curious on how you all like 'em. (Message edited by Phelan on August 24, 2009) |

I have a set of V9 (same profile) in an 86 Sporty. It ran a best of 11.75 bored to 1200 with stock 883 heads with a slick and wheelie bars. When you set them up make sure you check the exhaust valve when closeing, it it later than most any other cam especially in this lift range. |

Have you thought of putting in XB9 pistons ??? |

I thought about that, but I don't want to run quite that much compression, though these cams work best with high compression. 9 pistons would put me around 12-12.5:1, and I'm looking for 11-11.4:1 because it's hard to find decent gas in Amarillo. Plus I really want some forged pistons. |

Been running 'em for a few years. Valve to valve and valve to piston clearances need checking for sure. With stock XB valves I had to have them back-cut for clearance and some eyebrow shaving needs to be done on some hi-comp pistons. With stock XB style heads and 10.5:1 pistons I was making 96rwhp and 84ft-lbs. I'm now using the same heads ported with a 1250 kit and am waiting to get some good dyno tuning time in. The bike makes good torque off idle, but runs rough until it clears 3500 rpm and doesn't really hit it's stride until it goes over 4000 rpm. I like them. They fall squarely between the bolt-in and full race cams. |

I;ve been running N9 cams in my S1W for 9 years, my heads are ported plus bigger valves. also have single fire + HSR 42 carb. best rwbhp was 102 bhp at 7000rpm, with 83lbs torque at 5600rpm approx. |

I decided that I don't want to flip the dough to sink the valves in my XB heads so I have a trade pending for some SE .551s. They should give me more of what I'm looking for. The S2 is becoming more XB-spec everyday it seems. |

The screaming eagle cams work real nice, and if you really want Andrews, the N6 is I believe their biggest "bolt-in", and I love them in my bike. |

What`s the lift on the N6`s? |

Sorry BB, you couldn't handle that much power! |

These are the N6 specs. Timing Duration Lift TDC lift 34/50 264 302 .500 .241 56/28 264 302 .500 .212 RPM range: (2000-up)** 2500-6800. They are stock lift and long duration. Valve to valve clearances need checking with those. Raising compression would be a good idea. |
