So now to the aftermath. Here's my chest film...
...the little box is a chest-tube. There is a vacume in the box that draws the air that leaked from my lung out of the sack the lung hangs in. That tubie thing goes into my chest into that sack mentioned above. Pretty cool, eh? Here's a pic from the outside...

And now to the real deal. The fractured clavicle. The broken coller-bone. My wing is broken and so is my hair,,,
So who thinks they can see what is wrong with this picture? It's OK to just make a wild guess... I count 5 or 6 pieces. When I talked to the Dr. he said ordinarly this type of injury needs about 6 weeks in a sling. However through the miracale of Modern Defiance I seem to have a one in a zillion injury that don't hurt, and don't slo me down. I can do jumping-jacks with no trouble, and work has been no problem! So tomorrow (monday) I’ll start buggin’ Safeco for my new WarPony. I’m really lookin’ forward to seein’ everyone next month, and I promise NOT to be too exciting on this trip. So, Much Thanks to all my good friends. Your the best bunch of friends a dope like me could ever hope to have on this turn around. You all help me so much to make this Trail of Tears Doable. sooner, |

Galen, You are one lucky futhermucker Thanks for the update, glad to hear this spill hasn't killed your spirit. Loni and I have been discussing a "This Side of the Boarder Raid Holiday", we'll let you and Paul know our plans when we know our plans. Galen, with that xray, if you are still feeling no pain, man, it's time to ease back on the dope. I hurt just looking at it!!! That one spike looks like it is sticking almost through your skin!!! Any buy-back salvage offer from your insurance company? When I totaled my old M2, Progressive gave me $6200 for it, then offered me the bike for $780, then Spudman grafted his spares to it and I rode it for a couple years, then sold it for $3500. |

It's 'not dope, it's medicine! At least that's what this paper sez. Yes, it's true that I even make crashing look fun, but I really can't recommend it. Ins. sez they will pay out by fri. I went down to Desperation today and talked with Ed jr. about the '08 they still have. Looks like it will be my new Pony, sooner, other pics in latest archive |

I just shared the thread with Debbie and she laughed her but off! Man, If crashing is that fun why have I missed out? Deb also want's the Canadians to have a bottle of that fine tequila available for her consumtion at border Raid. (Looked pretty mean when she said it too) Bob |

OK, Safeco paid off Harley, and I'm just waiting for my check to get here to go pick up my new '08 1125R. Talked Desperation into a sickly-sweet deal. Man it's almost a month since I been on a bike!!!! I have been working with no troubles to speak of. I think I gotta thank Lo for the Rikee-Tikee earth Majik she performed on me the day of the boo-boo. Thoes 'bubbles' are great! So just sitting in stasis, waiting... so much waiting. sooner, |

Galen Can you ride slow enough to ride with me on the VTX? |

CAP, I will be riding so slo the bugs will be able to dodge me. So slo you will all be blu to me due to the Doppler shift. So slow I will be able to work on my Thesis while we ride. I shall conjagate verbs in a hair-pin. Square roots in a decreasing radius. Calculate the number of Angels that may dance on the head of a pin at any one time. And so on... At least that's what I'm gona tell my wife! |

OK, I had a dream last night. Duane and I were down at Desperation to pick up my bike, and the sales guy sez, 'well you know Bob Gussenhoven is right over there'. And dang if'n there wasn't Bob over in the service dept! That's all I remember, except no one had any clothes on... OK,OK I was down at Desperation today, sitting on my new bike. And waiting for Harley to get the $ from Safeco. Mabey tomorrow, mabey Monday. Everything is done and done but for that little freakin' detail. I got my check today, so.... mabey tomorrow. But for sure befor next weekend! OKOKOK, so I'm starting to get used to graveyard again. And we decided to brew our coffee with TWO packs of beans instead of one and i think I really like it that way 'cause now I ain't' tired no more and everything seems so interesting... CAP, what is a VTX... virtual takeoff crossover... sounds pretty fast to me! sooner, |

So anyone who's heard an 1125R knows it just sounds like a box of rocks. My wife sez, 'Oh, I didn't hear you come home'. Some of you know what an insult that is. No more setting off car alarms at sunrise... Actually this lack of sound could be considered to be the real cause of the accident. That deer would have heard Bettie comming and got the h ell back into the woods and off the hiway! (sound of muffled laughter) So to the rescue comes FMF with a slip-on for the 1125R! With a removable waffle, er, baffle, it will be available in about a week. Not quite as loud as a Drummer, not quiet like a washing machine on spin-cycle. I think a good compromise. Price is around $600 with tax and sundry bull shrimp... But alas, as of this posting I still have no bike to ride. I ordered the parts for Bettie today. I may get her out of Bob's Motorcycle W hore House befor to long. But still waiting for the snailmail to arrive at Harley from Safeco as to the 1125R. see ya all sooner, |

VTX is big 1800cc V-twin Honda cruiser that handles like a pig but will smoke a stock Harley like it's standing still. My only joy in riding these days since I can't ride a sport bike anymore without my sciatic nerve getting really pissed. Anybody doing the Border Raid US version beside Galen, Marcus and myself? We are getting to the details on the Border Raid thread. |

Well it's Wednesday, and mabey I'll get a new bike today! Tuesday was another long and pointless day with no war pony. One of the beautiful bastards at Harley or Safeco knows where that check is. I got a stupidly good deal on a new lid online. I ordered it from Antarctica and it will get here befor the bike does. |

That's a picture of Galen running off and leaving Marcus and I far, far, behind.... Paul: Hey Marcus where did Galen go? Marcus: Beats me! Guess we're on our own. Paul: Where the hell are we going? Marcus: Haven't a clue. Paul: Galen sucks! He's fast but he sucks! Marcus: I know! It's that probing intellect... |

Deb and I got a wild hair and rode to Reno last night. Got here at 2:00 this afternoon. 12 hours total riding. Her Son Justin flew here to buy a KTM 640 so we rode here to ride back with him. Leaving in the morning. Bob |
