Could someone please direct me to where I can find an "official" list of recalls for the 08 1125R...also, is there a list of "common" known issues as well? Sorry if this is a repeated request or thread... Thanks |

Cool link Court. Specific link for 2008 1125R Recalls. Oddly, one that they show is for 2009 1125CR. |

I monitor that stuff closely. Stories of "Buell Recalls" tend to get spun up and out of control on the internet. As an example . . . look at the 2nd recall on the link Blake posted. You'll notice it's only for 140 bikes. Take what you hear with a grain of salt . . . . "trust, but verify". You'll find Buell actually is one of the least recalled motorcycles made. Enjoy. |

Nobody has touched on the other part of your question about "common" known issues. I'm not sure what would be considered "common" or known issues, but there was a post some time back where some owners listed issues they have had and some listed no issues at all. Hope it helps. You can also do a search. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/421851.html?1228615850 (Message edited by dentguy on August 24, 2009) |

There was a similar thread on 06 Ulys. My problem isn't necessarily with "issues". It's when there aren't solutions readily available for these issues. Having lost: 3 BASs Stator Voltage Regulator Bearings Front Rotor Fuel Pump I should have been quite cross with my bike. All were covered under warranty. In the end, I had a bike that I knew inside and out and was confident that the repairs did the trick. Except for the BAS failures, nothing failed twice. The upside of a first year bike is that you are the first kid on the block to get one. The downside is that you are the final Beta tester. Buying a New Old Stock first year bike means that you get a new bike at a significant savings and if any of the "common" problems arise, the techs are well versed in how to diagnose and solve the problems and the factory has created and packaged nice kits to solve the problem. You can thank the first year pioneers for their beta testing efforts. |

I had the first 1125 in the UK, possibly in Europe. As the dealer handed me the keys, he said, 'You do realise you're a Guinea Pig don't you'. I replied, '.....and you're a fat fu...r as well' |

"the techs are well versed in how to diagnose and solve the problems and the factory has created and packaged nice kits to solve the problem." I'm sorry but that is freaking hysterical! Maybe 50% of the shops have a dude who, 1) gives a damn, 2) is even remotely aware of 1125R issues, and 3) can diagnose the problem without spending hours on the phone with Buell Tech. The key to this bike is finding a good shop to support you. (Message edited by Hellgate on August 27, 2009) |

CC - that is true but with our bike it is more so. With a Japanese bike you can find lots of independent shops who can work on them with no worries. With our bike, not so much. That is why I bought the 5 year warrenty and I've been trying out the three different shops in the area. Shop one was a disaster, shop two seems pretty good, and shop three, 50 miles away, has an excellent reputation. With my Yamahas there were many shops who could to a great job with them, that and the Yamahas were in the shop much less. Knock on wood...the 11 hasn't been in the shop for the past 6 weeks. Hopefully it stays that way for a while. For the first few months of owner ship it lived in the shop, I bought it care packages... |
