just wondering do these happen to go out often or at all?? , just wondering cause the buell place in town here has one for half price $45 , was wondering if i should pick it up just to have or are they easy to find around that price, thanks

I'd buy it!

Earlier this year the v/r shot crap's on my S3 and the closet OEM one I could find was in N.H. 4 days away.

So I went with a aftermarket one.

Always good to have a spare and that price is pretty cheap.

My 1997 S3T(12 years and 108K PLUS miles) has the ORIGINAL VOLTAGE REGULATOR and STATOR ...

The reason it is still OEM is "i" replace the BATTERY before it takes the ELECTRICAL SYSTEM components with it when it goes BAD", in other words "i" do not try to get the last electron out of the battery ...
