Anybody have the double exposed picture of the RR1000 (I think that was the bike, maybe it was the RW750) that was supposedly the inspiration for today's translucent bodywork? I tried searching for it, but I didn't have any luck. I understand that the image might be copyrighted, so if you can't share that's okay. I just wanted to share the inspiration with a friend. Thanks! |

I'm pretty sure it was the RW750. I'm pretty sure the pic is in "25 years of Buell" as well. |

I'm still kicking myself in the ass for not purchasing one from Dave Gess a few years ago. BTW...it was the RW750 http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/406 2/262336.html |

The pic in question is on pg. 24 of "25 Years of Buell". You can see it (and order the book while you're at it) on the Whitehorse press site: 25 Years of Buell |

Thanks for the responses guys! Sorry about the RR1000/RW750 mixup. I have the book at home, but I'm stuck here at work and was telling a co-worker the story about the translucent body work. Hootowl, thanks for the preview link, that is exactly what I was looking for |

The story of how the photo was shot and the paper it's printed on is worth hearing. It was shot with good old fashioned FILM and it's amazing. It may be time to start seeing if there is enough interest to get Dave to print a batch. I think they sold for like $50 each and he needed to print 25 or 50 to make it work. It is an amazing photo. |

That is a cool pic. I love the "see-through" pics like that. a large 30x40 would work really nice over the mantle. |

Sign me up for one too Since I accidentally started this, any chance of me getting #1 of X? I know, wishful thinking, but a guy's gotta try right? |

Oh, and if one of the moderators wants to change the title of this thread to the appropriate bike, please do. |

Mine's hanging on the wall in my office at home, framed, matted and protected by the latest and greatest high zoot UV proof photo glass. It looks Maavelous! |

Brad, What frame color/matting did you go with? I ended up with a thin black metal frame with a single matting of the closest red to the bike. Left a white border around the pic so as not to obscure the sig. |

Bryan, sounds like exactly the same frame/matte/border combo I have on my print. A wonderful piece of art (both the bike and the photo). |

I went with a black frame and black matt. I'll shoot a pic and post it up. I thought about going with a red matt but couldn't find a suitable shade. Oh yeah, just checked... Mines #16 (Message edited by bluzm2 on August 21, 2009) |

I am afraid it would have to be $100 to make it work. Quality printing is very expensive these day. dave |

I will revisit the cost on this. The big problem is the number of prints as the cost goes up quickly when you do only a few. I'll let you all know. |

I would definitely be interested in a couple of copies myself. If out of pocket expense is an issue I could front you some money to make this happen. |

Dave, while you're working up the costs for # of prints in a run, is there also an option on the size of the prints? I'm thinking Christmas present here, so put me down in the interested column please. |
