OMG, call Buellgrrrl! http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/285/4305/Motorcycle- Article/Euro-Gossip-August-2009.aspx "BMW have topped one of the most important UK charts, but it is probably not something they will want to boast about. The latest figures published by the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA), a government agency responsible for the safe operation of vehicles, show the German manufacturer has issued the highest number of safety recalls. Not only that, they have the highest number of machines affected by recalls as well. The recalls relate to gearboxes and brake problems, but despite BMW playing it down, owners point out that the VOSA table only relates to potential life threatening problems and does not take into account other issues, of which there are plenty! Following on from previous columns where we have mentioned the new motorcycle riding test fiasco which has resulted in trainees suffering injuries, the UK Government has finally launched an official inquiry!" ~SM (Message edited by Swordsman on August 20, 2009) |

Over the next year 70% of BMW dealerships will be out of business. |

That's because BMW owners are getting old and all they buy are T shirts. |

I have ridden 3 BMWs for work. R 1200 S Megamoto K 1300 S The megamoto is my '2008 Bike of the Year' and the 1300 is the nicest bike I've ridden so far this year. Price is the issue. |

I went to a BMW dealer, and all they did was try to get me on one of those 40% marked up Aprilia's. |

Do they give away hot dogs or lattes and chateaubriand? I'd need to know before I would bother to show up. |

Sometimes you're up . . . sometimes you're not. I **try** to focus and not get distracted with the misfortune of others. . . . although there are times I slip.

I miss my old shop. Was always able to go there on a Saturday, hang out, talk bikes, drink free coffee, eat free cookies and buy a chotzke or two. Made a lot of friends there. The new place that's taken up the franchise here on Long Island doesn't seem to be anywhere near as inviting. The only thing constant is change... |
