Anyone else see the problem here? Thoughts on whether they will do it,regardless of what the majority of Americans want? This is getting serious. The possibility of reconciliation tactics is old news, but the threat has now been put in writing. The fan is running,is the sh!t about to hit it? |

Juan Williams said last night that if the "Health Reform/Insurance Reform" isn't passed, this administration will get nothing done during Obama's term. That made my jaw drop, Juan Williams is a very intelligent Democrat. When he talks I listen. I don't agree with him very often, but he is intelligent, and uses common sense. by any legislative means necessary Racial overtones anyone? |

from: http://blog.heritage.org/2009/08/20/morning-bell-b y-any-legislative-means-necessary/ Jeff, Florida writes: Subject: FW: Compare: Joe & Jose COMPARE THE LIVES OF “JOE LEGAL” AND “JOSE ILLEGAL” These two families appear to be very similar. Both families have 2 parents, 2 children and live in California. “Joe Legal” works in construction, has a Social Security Number, and makes $25.00 per hour and he has payroll taxes deducted. “Jose Illegal” also works in construction, has NO Social Security Number, and gets paid $15.00 per hour cash “under the table”. Joe Legal… $25.00 per hour x 40 hours = $1000.00 per week = $52,000 per year. Now take 30% away for state and federal tax. Joe Legal now has $31,231.00. Jose Illegal… $15.00 per hour x 40 hours = $600.00 per week = $31,200.00 per year. Jose Illegal pays no taxes. Jose Illegal keeps all the cash he earns, = $31,200.00. Joe Legal pays for Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with limited coverage …$1000.00 per month = $12,000.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $19,231.00. Jose Illegal has Obama’s Socialized Heath Care which includes full Medical and Dental coverage through the state and local clinics at a cost of $0.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00.. Joe Legal makes too much money to be eligible for Food Stamps or Welfare so Joe Legal pays for food… $700.00 per month = $8,400.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $10,831.00. Jose Illegal has no documented income and is eligible for Food Stamps and Welfare. Jose Illegal and his family eat very well and still has all his cash $31,200.00. Joe Legal pays home mortgage of $1,300.00 per month = $15,600.00 per year. Joe Legal is now in the hole -<$4,769.00. Jose Illegal receives a $500 per month Federal rent subsidy, which entirely pays his rent of $500.00 per month = $6,000.00 per year. Jose Illegal still keeps all the cash he earns $31,200.00. Joe Legal now works overtime on Saturdays and gets a part time job after work to make ends meet. Jose Illegal has nights and weekends off. He is planning a vacation to Disneyland with his family. Joe Legal’s and Jose Illegal’s children both attend the same school. Joe Legal pays for his children’s lunches while Jose Illegal’s children get free government sponsored lunches. Joe Legal and Jose Illegal both enjoy the same Police and Fire Services, but Joe Legal paid for them in his property taxes. Jose Illegal lives in socialized housing and pays no taxes. Why are 20 million illegal aliens allowed to abuse our system? Americans are demanding a change to this serious injustice that was created by liberal Democrats, and worsened by Obama and his socialist administration. Small wonder the state of California is some 42 BILLION DOLLARS in the red over the next 2 years! Now you know why Obama sent ACORN to register illegal aliens to vote for Democrats, and continued abuse of working Americans. ARE YOU MAD ENOUGH TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT YET?!? I got drawn in... I try to avoid political threads, as my view is probably not wanted. I do however have something to share. A true story. Years ago my brother was having "episodes" not feeling well, some numbness, dizziness, among a few other related symptoms. He had Blue Cross Blue Shield. They did test after test after test. Nothing. More tests, they thought he may have MS. MS was throw out after more test. The "episodes" slowly went away. This passed Friday he had another "episode." After he felt bad all day, off to the hospital emergency room he went. No insurance this time. Tests. Diagnosed. He's been having strokes. This last one left him with little speech, not able to swallow, and can't walk. Yesterday he was released from the hospital, and is now at the rehab center. He's getting really excellent care, he's able to talk now (he's says it hurts, but it ain't stopping him, he's a real talker), he can swallow again, and he's working on walking. Read into this story what you will. It just seems to me, a lot of this "reform" is directed in the wrong direction. |

Sorry to hear about your brother.I hope he gets better, and gets proper care, regardless of how this all plays out in the end. Our system is surely 'broken' and needs some SLOW, methodical reform. |

Sounds like your brother is on the rebound. His experience demonstrates we do have a health safety net for everyone. |

Your brother may want to look into a malpractice lawsuit. On the issue of illegals scamming the system, I see it just about everyday. |

Thanks y'all, I'm sure he appreciates all the kindness offered. Your brother may want to look into a malpractice lawsuit. Doubtful. There are many types of strokes. The one he's had evidently is very difficult to detect unless they're looking at the same time the stroke is happening, or a very short time afterword. I just talked to Daddy, and he's dressed himself today, and said it took no longer than it would have before. He's walking with a walker, and his speech is getting better. Daddy said it's like he's drunk, slow and wobbly. The doctors are impressed with his physical being. I guess chopping word year round gets you in good shape. They said his being as fit as he is, certainly helped him, not to mention he's not even 40 yet. Sorry for the hijack. |

Sorry for the hijack. Not from where I'm sitting, You had an excelent point, I have known a number of Cuban refugees, most are honest and hard working they arrive many times after making a 90 mile water crossing at peril to life, deny them the chance to be citizens or deport them? I hope not. I want the medical field reformed. a prime example just above, comments about malpractice suit. the answer to me is limit the suits, give the docs the ability to sue the plaintif's attourney in the event of a loss or a suit is ruled frivolus getem to think abit before filing should slow the traffic down...} just a thought. |
