Happy to help. Anyone else seen this? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LED-Tail-Light-Buel l-1125R-1125CR-XB12R-XB12S-XB9SX-OEM_W0QQcmdZViewI temQQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem35a2fd5163 QQitemZ230367777123QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAcce ssories#ht_500wt_1182 Amazing how much value is perceived in removing one connector and adding three in its place. |

Shandon, I wish it were. Your bike met its untimely demise last year at Summit Point. It's a shame, but she has been replaced with the 05 XB12S seen above. Anthony, might want to call customer service and pick their brain if no one on here knows. It's odd that the part name and packaging all say "...w/o license plate light". Kind of implies there are two variants... |

I am still looking at the part numbers for one with a plate light. Looks like its not going to happen, as there is a part number for a new separate license plate light. Not sure what it looks like Y0514.7AA LIGHT, LICENSE PLATE Retail Price:$15.00 |

I asked the question about the price on the above find from Ebay. Check out the answer. Weak...he didn't publish the answer. Here it is: ANSWER: It is justified by: 1) labor to make the conversion such that it fits earlier models 2) parts to make the conversion and 3) ordering, tax, and shipping charged by the dealership. I am willing to do this for $30 if you send me the LED light and pay for the shipping to send it back to you. (Message edited by zatco81 on August 18, 2009) |

Doh! I wonder what that new plate light fits. Do you know what model it is used on? Look at the pics on www.buell.com it looks like the Firebolt still has the undertray cut out to allow the light to shine down. No surprise about the Ebay guy. In fact, if someone wants to pay $30 for a plug and play solution good for him. Nothing wrong with that. ac (Message edited by avc8130 on August 18, 2009) |

To each their own. $47 from the dealership to your house, three spade connectors....ready to roll for less than $60 after shipping and/or tax. |

I can't really blame him, sounds like a fair price, not everyone has electrical skills and would rather just buy a pre made setup. He isn't making a fortune off of it, $30 profit sounds reasonable. |

Just got a 2010 LED light in for comparison shots. Haven't had time to do the camparison yet, but I can say.. Running lights are WEAK!!! But, the brake light is okay. Not super bright, but no doubt better then I expected. ( has to be better then Clear Alternatives ) but hopefully soon I'll have pics up. But in all for $60 it's not too bad. Looks neat with the clear lens. |

It may not be bad but I won't be trading my XBlights tail light in for it anytime soon It is great step for Buell in the right direction though. (Message edited by Metalstorm on August 19, 2009) |

The new light has a nice price, looks ok, not partial to the clear lens, and like Metalstorm said, "It is great step for Buell in the right direction though. " I'm extremely happy with my XBlight, well worth the money and extra safety Rob has provided me. Many Thanks Rob!

Anyone have the part number for the wiring plug on the other side of the taillight? I talked to a local Buell dealer and he said they can get any of the wiring connectors on the bike but he just didn't have the p/n for this one. I'd like to keep it cleaner with it. |

Try asking Froggy. Keep in mind that the smaller connector may not work with the larger gauge wire. The older light's wiring was heavier to allow for the higher current draw. Might be able to trim the wire down a bit if necessary. Gonna have to see the connector and pins to be sure though. Please post the part number on here if you track it down. I chose to mod the light rather than the bike's harness, but it would good to have options for people looking to do this in the future. |

The connector itself? I would have to see a 2010 parts book to verify, but it looks like the same connector used on the Ulysses tail lights. Or you could get a 2010 wiring harness! |

for $6 I'll get both and find out! I was told by one of the parts guys at the dealer that the plugs come with the pigtails on them so I was just going to solder the new one in with some heat shrink. I've become very anal about wiring over the years. It's the one thing that taking your time and doing everything exactly right always pays off. |
