Welcome Ehilky! Just buy the jets and a couple #4 washers. $80 cheaper than a jet kit! |

Jets are available from online aftermarket HD suppliers like J & P cycles, Dennis Kirk, Bike Bandit or direct from HD/Buell. (Evo 1990-2006 Harleys, Buells and the Blast use the same jets). #45 slow jet and #175 main should get you started. #4 washers are available at a hobby supply store (RC airplanes, etc.) or hardware store. See: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/201 64/6812.html?1250055571 For carb help. (Message edited by gearheaderiko on August 14, 2009) |

Ehilky: I dont know what happened to your post, but from what I remember: #4 washers come in a pack of about 10 and they'll know what you need. #45 slow jet, #175 main jet. They do not come in adjustables and a #48 is (very likely) too rich. Jump to a 45 first. |

also if i do the intake, iridium spark plug, and exhaust, then jet the carb. would it be better to wait to jet until i get the cams (b50)? also with all the other things would we really notice a difference from the cams? and what happens to reliability to the bike with all those mods? thanks again for all the help. i love this web site/forums! |

the cam doesn't effect the jetting to much. the b50/pro series just cleans up the rpm band and reduces the harley sound in trade for a better midrange. |

Concur! Do one mod at a time and see how it runs after the change, please. Since you have a 2000 model, which is jetted lean to start, I'd change the jetting to a 45 slow and 170 main before you do anything else. Reliability isnt going to be affected much at all. Those arent radical mods. When you up the compression ratio, increase the redline limit or modify the head for more radical cams, then you start to cut into reliability (actually, more accurately, longevity). Nothing is as reliable as stock from the factory (in general terms). Beyond that its only as reliable as the last person that worked on the bike and/or the parts installed. |
